I dont have a problem with age, for me its all experience. I have been working with Resin, Latex, Plaster, ect for awhile now (almost....5 Years 
), but I do indeed have to press the issue of safety. It sucks to be on your death bed regretting what you did in the past. Wear a Respirator, maybe some Safety goggles, and a double helping of Latex gloves. Also, do what I did and get a parent to watch over yea...

Anyways welcome to De 405th hope you fit in, make freinds, hopefully more than i have.

just dont kill yourself kiddo. Read sites on auto body repair, get people who are auto body specialists to aide you, because they probably know the nature of fiberglass and body filler more than us costumers do (no offense guys)
theres gonna be a lot of literature, and you will NEED to protect yourself, with rubber gloves and full-blown safety gear.
Make sure the respirator is either OSHA or NIOSH approved, my momma is an occupational safety officer and works for the FDA, she would flip if anything wasnt OSHA approved.

Well I know its good to see younger ones getting into a craft like this, but you really have to be careful with that fiberglass and resin...I'm a few years older and I still don't even try to get near that stuff.

Quick reminder:
Toxic Resin fumes: Dangerous
Sanding cured fiberglass: Extremely Dangerous.
The fumes will make you dizzy and nauseous. But the glass particles flying in the air when you sand it will get lodged inside the lungs creating cysts, which in turn are most likely to become cancerous.
Use a mask when sanding, and wear long sleeve shirts (wash them separately if possible)
If you get glass in your skin and get itchy, don't scratch it, use duct tape to pull the glass out.
Any sticky tape will work. Duct tape is the stickiest I think.
