New Lens for the Carter/Commander Helmet. Just finished making it. Big improvement on what it was before. Had to totally scrap the other one.

Let me know what you guys think. Just need to firm up the helmet with some extra glue to ensure the shape is perfect. Now to make the accessories!

Nice work. Be sure to stick some silicone in the small gaps in the seams to make sure you get a smooth finish

Finally! the forum is up and running for me :D

a lot of my posts have been deleted but thank got not the whole thread!

Here are the latest photos. Currently working on the detailing and proportions. I have reduced the height of the knee pads as I felt it they were a bit too high.

Let me know what you guys think.

More detail work, wasn't happy with the front plate on the helmet so I have replaced that with one that has a bit more detail. Also added
detail to the bits next to the front plate.

I also added a pattern on the lens which I think makes it look cooler but that's just me.

I reckon that's the helmet finalized and all it needs is lighting and painting.

Also started to add detail to the abs section. Happy with the progress this weekend :)

Haha, I this multicoloured nature of the build really does seem to be quite popular lol maybe I should call this project rainbow. I would take credit but I just bought packs of multicoloured foaming, glad you like it though :D

I love foam, this armor has good bulk too, the scaling is great, I can't wait for the finished product!

Thanks mate!

Foam is a really forgiving material to work with I find. Im glad you like the bulk and scaling! I decided at the very beginning to sacrifice some lower body movement in order to make sure the legs etc looked in proportion to the rest of the upper body gear. I also used a 1/2 inch foam rather than the 10mm from for most off it which gives it that thicker bulker look. it much harder to work with because the blades don't make a clean cut straight through them as it too think but its defo worth it.

The bad side is that putting the armour on is a two person job and I cant sit down when I wear it. I can walk just fine though, haven't tried running :)

been busy working on the suit this weekend.

wasn't happy with the left shoulder as I felt it didn't have enough depth before so I have corrected that

Also, finalized both thighs today. Just need to add the lights and these will be good for paint.

Annnnnd... also want to build a sword for my Spartan. I saw something similar on the forum recently but cant find the topic :(

this is my preliminary sketch

basically, it will have a blue lit energy based tip and then a typical exotic metal blade. the handle will have some sort of energy level bar , a heat vent and other bits of detail. Would love to have your input into this.

Been working on the sword, this is the progress to date. I have the base finish, need to do the lighting and detail work.

bit more work today. I wasn't really happy with the helmet. it just didn't have enough definition

so I butchered it a bit and sorted it out! What do you guys think of the facelift?

Its a lot more symmetrical as well I think, currently working on a Reach DMR made from cardboard/foam/expanding insulation foam. Will document this build properly as it will be a very cheap way of making a rigid rifile which isn't to heavy either!

I love how colorful the foamies make each piece. :D Looks great and I love the bit with the iPhone in it. That's clever.
