Wow! The suit looks absolutely phenomenal, and the dmr is incredible. The color scheme right now makes me chuckle, but I'm sure when it's done, it'll be one heck of a suit. How's mobility by the way?

Thanks mate, the devil is in the details and they are taking so long to do. The DMR was fun and to build and is Defo fun to use with the suit. I'm glad you like it so far.

Don't worry about the rainbow colour scheme, that will soon go once I dip the suit. It's different though haha. I'm thinking of using the plastic dip smoke paint. It's a charcoal colour but the more coats you add in an area, the darker it gets which will be ideal for shadowing and base. Plus plastic dip do sector colours so I'll have the main blue colour custom mixed, buy about 2.5 litres and use the compressor and spray gun attachment to part the suit. I'm going to need a lot of advice on that I think. Also want to make any joints seem less so I'm thinking of using plastic dips foam filler stuff. I want a matt finish to this suit with the blue painted bits having a slight gloss to them. Fingers crossed. Little bit more work and it's time to put the overalls on (once I buy them) :)

Man dont you just look like a sexy beast :p
I love the suit so far and the gun. Great job :) cant wait to see the paint scheme
What are you doing for the undersuit??
Also you never answered Kadus about mobility lol
Keep up the great work.

Lol I completely missed that bit out, my bad. Glad you like the suit! I'm going to try and keep it as accurate to carter's in game colour scheme as possible. May use glow in the dark paint for warning stickers.

Mobility wise I can walk in it just fine and my arm movements are also great. I can go up and down stairs too. I ***edit*** can't ***edit*** sit down though. Having said that I made the decision of compromising movement over scaling very early on. I wanted it to look right and as long as I could walk and go up and down stairs i knew i would be happy. So far soo good. The thighs catch the shins a little but I will remedy that soon.

Under suit wise I'm just wearing my oakley compression top and will buy some compression pants as well to aid cooling.

Paint it! Your almost done!

Just a small tip, you may want to cut down on the thickness of the chest piece attachments to make it easier to hold your DMR, but otherwise it looks fantastic!

Thanks mate, I am itching to get the paint ordered but I need to plan it first as well as do the lighting. Plasti dip in the UK is not cheap by any means lol

I have thought about reducing the thickness of the chest pieces but then they would look too thin in my opinion and lack that presence carter has on his armour. Holding the gun isn't too bad but its not like i can go outside with the gun. Unfortunately, in the UK, the police are extremely sensitive to this kind of thing. If some moron calls them they could send an armed response (who tend to shoot first and investigate later) and things could get out of hand VERY quickly. Trust me, I am not exaggerating. That's kind of the reason why I built a sword (aside from the fact it will look totally bad ass if it comes out as I want it to lol) which when all lit up will look fake for sure. I might go into my local police station and clarify if it would be ok to walk around with the suit and the rifle on Halloween but the answer will probably be a no. :(

Started the lighting and detail work on my Energy Sword Hybrid. Still needs a lot of work but the lighting system is installed. £2.99 ($5) bought a set of fairly lights ready made all waterproofed etc and simply installed it in the sword. I think that is the easiest way of lighting anything of this sort.

Just ordered some glue so I can get it finalized. Was unable to do much work recently as I pulled/strained my chest muscles and could barely move my arms!

Feedback please.

Thanks dude. Glad you like it. I have made a few changes from the original concept I came up with but for the better. I should have it finished by tomorrow night fingers crossed. I know it's not strictly halo but I would LOVE to see an energy sword hybrid in game. If i can't have one in the game then this will have to do :D

*crosses fingers for it to be finished* yay!
Yeah i like the idea of a different energy sword type thing. Its great :)

ok so been working on the sword a little more. got a fair bit of detail done. Had to cut a lot of Perspex sheets which was a PAIN! but totally worth it. Had thought of using a thinner sheet which I could cut using a scissor but decided against it as I would diffuse the lights as much as a thicker sheet so a compromise was achieved. Got the energy meter sorted out as well and now just need to wrap the hand guard in 2mm foam and it will all be done :D more glue should be here tomorrow which only means one thing ...the whole suit will hopefully be lit up in a a couple of days :D

PICTURES! :D

It feels epic to hold it all lit up in a dark room

Energy Sword Hybrid is ready for paint.

So finally got this completed! Let me know what you guys think of the final product (needs painting of course which is where I will add the UNSC logos and further details

...my glue gun just blew up as I was working on my boots :(

This is what I had. Any suggestions on a replacement? Also, I am thinking of painting and was wondering how much coverage you get from a single plasti dip 400ml spray can on a suit (2 to 3 coats). the reason i ask is that if it ends up being quite a few cans. I mioght just buy a 2.5 litre can and thinner and spray it on using a compressor.

here is what one completed boot looks like. So much for getting all the lighting installed :(

Looking Great

That's looking pretty amazing... but i think i'm most impressed with the forearm pieces. I'm thinking of incorporating my phone into my odst build, and i'm glad to see someone else had the same idea. the calf pieces are also looking especially great!

Thanks mate, the forearms were the first pieces I did and the fact that they turned out a hell of a lot better than I was expecting gave me the drive to do this whole build I think. If they had looked ordinary I would have probably given up by now lol. The calf pieces were waaaaaay too big for my legs but they had to be that size otherwise the scale would look totally wrong. Cant have a Spartan without strong legs! so for those I built and internal layer which fitted well and fill the gap with expanding insulation foam. They are now rock hard and very sturdy plus they fit really well too

rifle is complete

Woah! I just now noticed the DMR! I thought the forearms were impressive, but this firearm just blows me away, pardon the pun. This has to be, overall, one of the best foam suits i've ever seen. And dang, I just cannot get over that DMR!

haha pun excused! Thanks mate, the DMR was fun to make. Bit of an experiment as well but it all worked out pretty well. Im glad you like the overall look of the suit. Its always nice when someone enjoys all the hardwork I have put in! To be honest I still feel I can add a lot of detail to the suit but there has to be a point where you have to step away and get a reality check really. Let me know if I can be of any assistance when you start your build :)
