Its true, I've recently become fed up with the weight of the pep build and I am now determined to have a much lighter/better looking suit.

I've made my first journey into foam armor building today

I've made a forearm

Comparison of new piece vs old piece to see hoe much cleaner foam is to the pep. Of course I still have to smooth out the glue and creases and seal the foam but I am loving how much easier this is

And I am excited to be able to do this with a bolter when this suit is all said and done. ITS GONNA BE SO LIGHT!!

And I know I said this was an Arcturus V.2 build but I an unsure if I should resurrect it as a Ultra or start fresh with a whole new suit
I'm still a little attached to Arcturus

I am loving this build so far and cant wait to get more foam so I can construct the other boot and move on to the shins!

Update time!!
Here is a sketch that is a sneak peek at my current project

only hint I will give is that Severus is Arcturus' twin brother that whose ship was lost in a warp storm. I am devolping the backstory now, but this will become two builds so stay tuned

Started some detailing of the arms today

so the arms are finished detailing wise, now they need their coats of plasti-dip while I move onto the legs

Thanks for having a look!

Great work Mike! You may already know this so if you do...please excuse me. If you are using a pep file to make these, especially for parts like the knee(I believe that is what is laying on top of the thigh. You should try assembling the pep so it has the shape that you want, then heat the foam to that shape, lay the template on top, trace it, then simply cut it out. This way, you don't have all those cut lines you have to mess with later. Just a thought buddy and if you don't have a heat gun, just forget what I posted, lol. Keep up the great work! :D

Yeah, I don't own a heat gun YET
plan on getting one, just haven't gotten around to it yet

First of all, great build! Love it! Second off: be VERY careful with the heat gun around glued pieces like the shin. I tried to heat the back of a SPARTAN-III boot and the hot glue deformed and melted in a second. And it's very hard to re-glue areas that have been glued without making it look very messy

Update

Rebuild is taking shape!
Got both legs made up
Tying something new this time around and actually using a belt/space diaper

also taking a cue from a friend of mine and including ab armor to try and make this build as accurate to the minis as possible but while still staying scaled to my body
