Looks pretty good dude.

Side note though..the resin will dry at the same rate regardless of the fans.

Though they help tremendously with the awfull smells...hate the stuff....

Ok so I finished the left, right and back sides of the helm. So here are the pics of my helm during the stages of fiberglassing. I still would like more people to vote on my color options.

Sorry for the mass amount of pics. But might as well. O and I still need color opinions. Plz.
Thanks for all the comments. O and tomorrow I'll finish glassing then go buy some Bondo, for the outside. I'm wondering how much to get. Because I want the outside to be thicker so I can dremel details in. Thanks again.

Ok so I will for worn everyone this is a ton of pictures. I'll start out with the finishing of fiberglassing my helm, then go to using bondo, then to after sanding, the bondo, then to penning of the details to make the H2 helm a H3 helm. O and more paint schemes, and anyone that could give me any tips on putting details into my helm using a dremel. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. O and in response to Caboose I used, 110 lbs cardstock.

After fiberglass dried overnight:

On to Body filler I used these materials you need/recommended:
Bondo Body Filler
mc_helmet104.jpg

Nice and small plastic spatula thing

A Shiny piece of cardboard, big piece

What Bondo looks like
mc_helmet107.jpg

Mix with this hardener the ratios are on the can
mc_helmet108.jpg

You want to mix it on the cardboard, till it gets to a nice creamy pinkish grey. Then spread over the area where needed, with the spatula thing.

So if anyone could give me any tips about dremeling details into my helm, would be great. O and color options. Thanks for the comments. And again sorry this is so long but I couldn't upload the pictures so that it would have been two big updates instead of one ginormous (sp) one. Thanks again.

looks great! 1 questions though, why did you put bondo on the inside of the helm?

as for the paint scheme, its all up to you, i am in the same dilema, i have a choice of a dark metallic blue, jet black or the standard woodland green

keep up the good work dude

I bondoed (sp/ Idk if thats a word) the inside because there were some areas where I couldn't reach, like the bottom part of the brim of the helmet and also there were some sharp edges and I wanted to strengthen the rim of the whole where you put your head.

Well, I have to ask, how strong does that body filler get after completely dried? I've never used it, only the resin.
As apart, its really cool to see so many pics of the helmets progress, as opposed to one or two images, so really nice, keep up with the boat load of images :p

For the outside I was planing on doing a mixture of bondo and cardboard so I could convert my H2 helm to a H3 one. O and the Bondo gets very hard like a rock. But its not as hard as glass. So I would suggest glass for most the helm then touch ups with the bondo. Also if you want to make a lightweight helm, don't use a lot of body cause this stuff is really heavy for how little you use of it. O and I'll keep up with the extreme number of pictures. Thanks for the comments. O and I still would like tips on dremeling in details or ideas on how to change from a H2 helm to a H3 helm. PLZ any tips, tricks or something would be greatly appreciated.

The past few days I haven't had the time to work on it. But later today I may have sometime to work on dremeling details.
