UNSC combat engineer build/ general brain storming

A little story time before I start.

So this past weekend was Fan Expo Toronto and it was genuinely one of the best experiences I have ever had, Not only was this my first time working at a booth but this was also my fist time cosplaying at a con where I did my Mark 5 build which I want to do a thread on a some point in the future because even now I'm still not done.

But while we were there on day 2 some unidentified member of the 501st if I remember correctly before I got their dropped of this unfinished Operator helmet, and so I used the universal right of dibs and yoinked that thing for myself.

My initial plan was to just paint it in the same colors as my Mark 5 armor but that felt a little lame to have my first 2 helmets be some similar and also the helmet would be WAY too big for the neck so it would more be a tactical bike helmet than anything, after that I thought about just making it its own thing not linked to any cosplay, but then I saw what KaeSpoon and @G-262 did where they had marine and army armor on with a Mark v and Air Assault helmets respectively.

While I could use this guy with a marine and it would still look pretty bangen I want to do something more functional, so after seeing the cosplay medics that roam around most con's I've landed on the idea of doing a Combat Engineer build, something that looks cool and would fit within Halo, but also is easy to get on, Very practical, and is functional where I would have my pouches full with stuff like acrylic paint, sewing stuff, hot glue, a sawdering iron, etc.

Lore nerds can correct me if they want but to my knowledge there's not really and Combat Engineers that have appeared in lore the closest thing would probably be some of the Marine and Army Medics in Reach but because of that I really have some wiggle room to work with and I can be very loose with how things are supposed to look, so because of that my main inspiration is going to be the best character in infinite Fernando or The Pilot

While not directly a mechanic he dose do some mechanic work in game before he has a crash out and I would imagine that his attire is pretty similar to what a Combat Engineer for the UNSC would wear if they were in a active warzone

I want to keep the blue and the green going definitely but with slight additional armor like some shin armor which I remembered these older ones initially made for a
Red Hood costume from Batman Arkham Knight but could easily be painted and modified with decals to look more halo like, and the forearms would most likely be from one of the many marine STL's you can find

The chest itself would be extremely similar to the Pilots seen in the final game as I want a good amount of flexibility so just a plate carrier with some sci-fi looking details on it would look good enough, but I would like to have a small back pack for more equipment and other stuff essentially a mini Molle bag with maybe like a CE med pack or something strapped on the back like that one thigh accessory in Infinite that I'm too lazy to look up

finale few things to mention would be just some tactical lights on the sides of the helmet (because the other 2 are missing on mine and I don't know the scale nor stl's) instead of a pistol holster I would have 2 large thigh pouches and the pistol would maybe be chest mounted, but really there's not going to me too much to this guy as my big project for 25-26 is gonna be a M247 with shield and detachable tripod from infinite for next years FET booth and I'm still having a lot of other projects in the works right now so this might just end up being a fun side thing that doesn't really matter if I finish it or not

With that thanks to the people mentioned as well as N8TEBB, YTunz, and celmor1785 for allowing me to work with them last weekend.

Following this thread, I love seeing conceptual/ creative suit designs! The Reach/Infinite Marine armor is incredibly versatile and can go with any suit you can think of!

Forgot to mention guns

The pistol is just going to be the exact same sidekick that I used for my Mark 5 but I would like to make the OddWorks Reach grenade launcher however with the M247 project I might not have enough time and I'll just go with my M7S SMG
