As close to Mechwarrior 5 as we're going to get. These guys have done an outstanding job pulling Battletech out of the muck it was stagnating in. Basically a whole new game using Crysis's engine. You not only get mechs but aerotech fighters, tanks, and infantry

Sorry if this is old news for some of you. It's just I've always been a huge B-tech fan and I can't believe I haven't heard about this until now.

Yeah the last version was Mechwarrior 4 (released 7 or 8 years ago I think). 4 has some killer mods but this new Living Legends Game looks to blow all the old games out of the water as soon as it gets released later this year.

Not that I still don't bust out my old mechwarrior games every once in awhile.

This looks promising, especially because it's such a privilege to get Cry Engine 2 tools. If CryTec have such faith in the devs, so have I (normally, mod projects never get finished).

Figures with the awesome 3D talent around here that you'd know somebody with their hands in this. Now I just need to know is who to send the THANK YOU $200 check when this baby rolls out. They are really pulling out all the stops on this.

you should go real old school, and get ahold of a copy of BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception
(or the sequal, crescent hawks revenge)

i still play that every so often, although getting it to work with vista is....troublesome

I remember when I played the first few mechwarrior games to come out! Those have always been some of the best Joystick PC games ever! I can't believe they boxed the series so badly, I was so disappointed after playing mercenaries and that whole trilogy. I just hope I Don't actually need crysis to play this.......

Nah, this does look wicked. Too bad my PC can't run something like this! My friend over live said he lived on Mech Warrior 4 and still plays it often. It seems like a wicked game.

Awesome! Ahh the good old days, roaming around in a vulture with a couple of wingmen ready to lay down some LRMs into a couple of enemy mechs. Mechwarrior 4 Vengeance was the best!

I did play the Mechassault games just because the where battletech related, to be honest they sucked! Mechwarrior 4 is like 9 years old now and still kicks butt but we got a mac now so no more mechwarrior for me but macs are sill better than pcs

They might want to watch out with the second model (first one untextured) because its too similar to a zentraedi officer pod from the Macross series..

Crysis uses the CryEngine 2, which is one of the best, if not the best engine (after SCUMM) for the PC. It's highly unlikely they'll port it to the xbox or ps3 (and if they did, it's highly unlikely if would be as good).

The main designer from Macross gave his unofficial consent back in the 80's for the old B-tech inner sphere models to borrow from Macross, Dougram, and some other series. Then FASA got in trouble from Harmony Gold in the 90's about using them.

But this is a fanmade mod so they can portray the classics any way they see fit.
Also look at the Warhammer (Destroid Defender) and there's stuff based on the veritechs.

I'll always love B-tech over other mech games simply based on the rich universe that's been fleshed out through the cannon over the years.
