Here is a picture of the set-up in the helmet.

That kinda confuses me of where it is, can you make a clear picture of where it is

It appears that the switch is on the faceplate on the inside of the helmet.
Nice hook up ronin. :D

Yea the switch is inside the helmet. Its far away from my mouth. I have already worn it at Adventure Con and it was very comfortable!

Hey Ronin, do you have a wiring diagram of what you did? The set up is very sweet and wouldn't mind giving it a try myself for my bucket.

This might work, depending on the type of resistor your using, but what would work well for helmet lights, get some jumbo LEDs from radioshack, they look very good on your helmet, as well as giving off a good amout of light.

ive tried. i already have a computer fan, but its way to big. and i want the set up that he has, with the two smaller fans next to the air vents. any electronics store in particular that sells ones that small?

Mouser has 40mm fans for $3.50. They're the same ones I use in my kits, and they push a hella lot of air at 12v. You need two 9v batts and a 7812 voltage regulator to do it correctly though.

Some people ask about my wiring schematics. Well here is my digram. I hope it helps

I bought ALL the pcs separate at Radio Shack. First the wire I used is communications wire. You could use any kind of small wire. The LED's are the standard white ones. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...rentPage=family On LEDS remember the long leg is the positive side.
The LED mounts I used are here http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...rentPage=family
I used 100ohm resistors, which comes in a pack. Resistors are non directional, so it does not matter which way you put them. Here is a link to the switches. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...rentPage=family And I used their small DC fans. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...rentPage=search
All the wires are sodered together. I put the resistors in the "box" with the switches so they would be out of the way. To keep the wires in the box I just applied a little hot glue on the inside of the box around the holes. Here is the box ( you must drill holes in it for the wires) http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...rentPage=family I mounted the box with velcro, in case I needed to remove it (and also I used velcro on the batteries and the fans) And I used a small amount of hot glue to mount the wires. You can look back and few pages and see the pictures of this. I also used the 9v battery connectors for the batteries. I hope this helps let me know if you need to anything else (also if these links don't work)
