xbox 360 controller drivers

i've installed like 5 different xbox 360 controller drivers onto my pc and the controller isn't being detected by any programs. i'm using a wireless controller connected to the USB port via a play and charge kit and i'm on a windows xp

need to know where to get one that works and i'm kind of a noob at this stuff so i need to know exactly what to do to install it (my 360 broke and i probly wont get it back till after christmas so i'm stuck with quake demos and flash games and stuff lol)

I only have a wired one That one is more simpler and easier

Play and charge is just for......charging, it has nothing to do with making your PC detect the controller, what you need is a bluetooth adapter for bluetooth devices. It will notice your xbox wireless controller as long as you have a driver installed.

a bluetooth thing wont work since the controller doesn't have bluetooth

but any ways you have to get the wireless receiver
