I've been putting together a Halo 2 Anniversary ODST for what feels like an eternity but have finally reached a milestone (finishing the belt pouches) where I have something to show. Cyne's Halo 2A ODST thread and got me going in the right direction with a lot of stuff so big thank you to them!

I am 3D printing my armor using TitleWave's files, not much to show there. Only modification I made to it was I shrunk the helmet by 5%. I feel like that made it more snug and reduced the "bucket" effect. Only downside is I can't pull it off I have to take off the front and visor and then slide the back off my head. It's tight it there but I think fans should fit.

The main areas I feel like I have something to contribute is the pouches, the clothing, and material for the drop leg skirt thing and the shoulder padding/neck seal.

Pouches

I first need to start by saying I hate sewing and hated making these pouches. I used cordura , pleather, and various nylon straps to make them. I wanted the black parts to look like leather and have piping around the flap as well. That was the most difficult part as the often came out lopsided. You can see that in the picture showing the two attempts at the pouches below. At first I tried to make them the way you would an actual magazine pouch but they kept coming out wonky. The newer attempt used templates I traced off of in game assets and I used EVA foam and glued the fabric on top. The pleather bottom and piping was still sewn on. I then glued all the parts together. The pleather reacts very strongly to superglue and made a strong bond almost instantly. It made it look less floppy and more uniform. I'll put the template blow, I used Cyne's naming convention of V1 and V2 for the small pouches. The big pouch uses the same template I just exclude the straps for the butt one. The big pouches do not have EVA foam on the back part where it attaches to the belt. This lets it curve with my body better.

V2 of pouches left V1 right. Back view of the old (left) and new (right). they attach the same way you would a molle pouch. Need to clean up the back but I don't think it's very vivible when the belt is on.

Here they all are (minus one) on the belt. I just used a 1 inch nylon strap for that with two plastic buckles. One pouch sits ontop on the buckle and has to be attached with velcro. I haven't set that up though.

I still need to do the chest and drop leg pouches but I ran out of material and patience. I did decide to reduce the chest pouch size but that made it way harder to do the piping. I might just put some grenades on the chest instead.

Drop Leg Pouch Thing and Should Padding

So far I have only completed the leg part (I don't know what to call it). I had a lot of difficulty selecting a material that had the right look. Reclaimer used some white material that he dyed but I wanted something with a smaller patter. I initially wanted a hex pattern EVA foam but couldn't find one in the right size. What I did find was this hex pattern embossed neoprene fabric. I feel pretty okay about it. The hex pattern is a bit hard to see and the piping came out rough on top but the pouches should hide most of that. The back connects with velcro (big pouch covers seam) and I used this buckle that I thought gave a similar look to that of the game. There is 2 inch nylon webbing on the back side so it doesn't stretch when I put it on. For the shoulders and neck I will use the same material. I might paint it with an airbrush to see if I can give it more of that in game look and make the hex pattern pop.

Here is another fabric I found that might be interesting to use if you can reduce the shine.

Clothing

I have not begun this part yet but it is next in line. I was not able to find a dark blue camo that had matching tops and bottoms which I honestly think is kind of crazy. I really wanted that blue camo look so decided to go off the deep end and make my own shirt and pants. I am just using pants and a button down shirt I have as a pattern and am planning on making it as simple as possible.

The pants will be mostly covered up by the shin armor, leg pouches, and belt pouches with only the thighs really showing. The pants will have an elastic waistband, no zipper and no pockets, since you wouldn't be able to reach them as the leg pouches cover them.
Similarly for the shirt it will be button down with no collar as the neck and shoulder padding will cover that.

For the camo I found this blue camo fabric from dear stella. I feel like the color comes very close but the fabric is very soft. I'm worried it might look like PJs.

For the ribbed fabric I'm thinking of going with this ribbed spandex either in black or navy blue.

That is all I have for right now. I'll update this thread as I get further along in the process. If any of you have some feedback or advice please let me know. This is the biggest project I have taken on so far so it's very much a learning process as I go.
