7 days and 3 hours later I have the back piece of my torso. I’m going to start the chest part tonight, which will be an equally long print. My other printer is finishing up the other shin. Then all that is left is the thigh armor.

Your 3D prints are coming out really nice! Like I2aMpAnT was saying, doing a black base coat will darken the Italian olive. I used Rustoleum Oregano for my Mark VI and it didn't completely pop out until I did a black wash, brown wash and other things to add grime and depth to my armor. Use a scrap piece to test out how you want your armor to look.

I just sprayed some Italian Olive COLORMAXX and it’s already much darker lol. Weird.

I am planning on buying an airbrush to try and learn a new skill. I am not the greatest painter, but I plan on doing some dry brushing along with washes also.
Started my chest armor last night, estimated at (spartan) 117 hours. After that, all I have left are my thighs, which I will start on my other printer.

Picked up the fabric for my undersuit, yaya Han scuba hex from Joann’s. I had been waiting for it to stop being on sale for 9.99$ and go back to 14.99 a yard, so I could use a 50% off coupon ;-)
Bought the whole bolt, planning on lining my armor padding with it too

That is amazing you can do that, but I would be terrified of doing a print that big for so long incase something happens. Sure you could stop it in the failed place and print the remaining section separately, but mentally I think I would have to slice it :b

Yeah it’s definitely stressful, but I’ve put these printers thru non stop 3 and 4 day prints, making rocketpack parts. Once it gets going the only main reason I ever get failed prints are filament feed issues.

Chest armor is at 65% I’m hoping it will be done Wednesday.
Current armor status: left thigh is printing on my other cr-10, after that all that remains will be the right thigh!
In the mean time I’m still sanding and smoothing.

These are the gloves I chose, I wanted something lightweight. Got them on amazon

Almost there! The torso is a little tight, but fits pretty good, I’m just holding the front and back on by friction in the pic.

Suit is done printing. I’ve started making the weaponry, MA5C and an energy sword, using Moesizzlacs file.
Been working on the strapping system and sanding armor. Can’t wait to do my first suit up!
Hoping my undersuit is done by this weekend.

Everything is finished printing, sword and MA5C added to my ever expanding sanding and painting list.

what does everyone use for the black segment of the boots? I tried using a 4” drain pipe, but is too stiff, probably going to 3D print and then cast that section in rubber.

Also interested in the material used for the boot. Drain pipe looks good but I wonder if you can heat it up at all to loosen it up.

Calling ExCeLLuR8 ! He tried the same thing in his build as it definatly looks good, but just isnt ideal. He then replaced it with something else that was perfect. I'll let him give more detail

Doubt it, I used a heat gun to form it in place, and it firms right back up once it cools.
