Ok so I decided I wanted to be a Halo Spartan for Halloween! Yeah I know how un original. Upon watching The Guild season 5 I thought hey how hard can it be to make a Spartan armor set.

I am an artist, and tattoo artist so I figured why not give it a shot. I have watched many a tutorials on youtube, as well ans have some minor experience in Fiberglassing so here we go.

I have 45 days to go from ZERO to HERO. I know people usually say you need a year to make this, but that is only working on the project here and there. I have the next 45 days I can and will be working on it for 15 hours a day EVERY day for 45 days straight.

So far I have gotten 3 of the 15 peices done today alone. By done I mean just the paper crafting!

My plans are to paper craft every thing, then resin them all at once. That way I can concentrate on doing every thing all at the same time. This should cut down on time needed for assembly.

Here are the first few pictures too.

IF ANY ONE HAS ANY IDEAS THAT MAY HELP ME OR IF YOU THINK I CAN IMPROVE ON SOME THING! PLEASE TELL ME!!!! Thanks!

** Btw I know I am doing the low resolution model of the uniform. But I will be tweaking them up as I go. I chose the low res model because of Halo Aniversary! Yeah I hope to wear this to it's midnight release!!! **

The only bad part about rushing a suit is the detail you will lose.

Your pieces look good so far, and its a good thing you went with the low def files. I was hoping I could have my suit done for the release of CEA but I realized how close it was.

well 45 days isnt really ruching them. especially at 15 hours a day thats 675 hours alloted to work on them. But yeah. I will be adding on to the low def files. I just hope people can give me good support through this awesome project!

Not to sound like a downer, but not really. Since you're doing Pepakura, I assume you're going to be using resin/glass/bondo as well. All of these things need time to cure and/or dry; not to mention paint. You also have to take time to do everyday things like eat and use the restroom. However, I encourage you on your deadline! I'm sure you can turn out something awesome by Halloween!

That's some nice Pep work, can't wait to see more!

Good luck on your build!

Thank you. I have taken in to concideration all the time for curing for the bondo resin and fiberglass.

I am gonna do all the pep work first, then all the rsin at the same time. Then all the fiberglass at once. and so on and so on. If it isn't ready for Halo-ween, then it should atleaste be ready for Halo Aniversary. The 600 hours it taking in to account 10 hours a day to sleep eat and bathroom. :)

Good for you! Yeah that whole it takes a year thing is ********. If you spend the time and dedication you can do it in a month. You can still get pretty good detail depending the time you put towards on each piece. Good call on pepping and doing fiberglass in big chunks! Word of advice, don't make full cup size batches of anything when you get to hardening. I've wasted pretty much an entire helmets worth trying to do it in one shot. So take your time when it comes to that, some parts will suck to get through but its worth it!

looks pretty good so far man, keep up the great work =D

Thanks for believing in the time frame i set out. I took alot of time to sit down and plan it out so I could do it. If I didnt think it could be done then I wouldn't even attempt it. As for mixing in small batches thanks for the advice. Resin isnt cheap and we don't need a huge glob of hard plastic lol.

And thanks for the compliment on my prep work! Means alot! I will keep this stuff updated!

Well after 16 hours hard work in 1 day I got the Pep work of BOTH fore arms and Both Biceps done!

Thats 4 parts down 11 more to go! Hell yeah baby!

Leave the chest for last. Even though you are doing LD models, that thing is a beast. It almost broke my resolve.

Also, I'm still a noob, too. I have almost finished my pep work. But I'd be more than happy to help a fellow tattoo-enthusiast. Feel free to ask me anything by PM.

I mean no discouragement, but I have to agree. The chest piece has so far been the hardest piece for me yet. However, I feel that if you get into a good rhythm and dedicate a good chunk of time, you can get this suit presentable in 45days. And even after halloween, you can still spruce it up. So good luck and keep us posted!!!

I'm trying to make my first build before Halloween too. I'm only making a helmet though, but I know with enough effort I will get it done in time for "battle". I'm not too confident about you finishing an entire suit and I would say you should focus on completeting the helmet first. Of course I say this because I am only okay with just a helmet and this is your project so: "Good Luck Spartan!"

Well thanks for the faith. As long as I keep up my momentum I think I can do it. Im way ahead of schedual right now. I didnt expect to complete 4 pep works in 1 day.

I do plan on sprucing them up after they are resind to add more effects. I guess I will just have to Keep going hard. 44 more days until I hit my dead line! Another 15 hours today!! Here we go!

I'm lucky to get one done per day. Keep up the awesomeness!

Wow thats some serious dedication. I could never spend 14 hours on pep. I can barely spend 2 :p. Also... that cookie... so hynotising.... Whoops. How'd your cookie get into my mouth?

WOOT I LOVE COOKIES!

Yeah its really tiering to keep up the pep work non stop. But I look at it as once the PEP is done, its all down hill. Since the Pep work is the base you gotta rock that **** and make it look it's best to the resining/hardening doesnt mal-form right? I could be wrong....

Starting my shins right now Will post pictures when done!

Thanks for the encouragment!

wow..... so much pepping at one time.... i think my eyes would pop out of my head. I just pepped a new tac-pad and need a break after an hour and a half! lol! good luck on the build. i will be following this one. You got some serious dedication to this deadline, curious how it will turn out.
