I recently saw the previews for 9 while at Transformers 2. I immediately fell in love with Tim Burton. :) I've never seen any of his other stuff, ( Nightmare before Christmas, Corpse Bride, etc. ) but this movie looks absolutely amazing. The Co-Director is the guy who made Wanted, so I'm thinking this movie is going to be amazing. What do you guys think? I'm attaching the trailer from youtube so you guys can watch. ;)

So what do you guys think? I like the whole "Tim Burton" themes that are in the movie. The ragdoll thing kind of fascinates me as well. Of course, part of the reason that I love the trailer so much is becasue of the song. "Welcome Home" by Coheed and Cambria is one of my favorite songs ever.

EDIT: Sorry guys, I didn't realize that the embedding feature of this video was disabled. You'll have to go to the site to watch it. My bad :(

I saw this preview in like march or something And I said to myself I am seeing that movie the day it comes out. I'm so excited

If you look around, there is a short film about 9, that's what the movie is based off of sense it won awards and all they decided to make a full movie.

Also its different and pretty cool.

God damn it. They need to give the guy who REALLY made this some credit.

TB is just producing the movie. A dude named Shane Acker made 9. This is based off a ten minute short he did some time ago.

Okay does anyone here realize that Tim Burton is NOT the creator of this movie? He's the flipping producer. Shane Acker is the creator of the movie. Even IMDB says so.

Well Tim Burton is the producer of Nightmare before Christmas and they give him all the credit for that one too, and no one says anything about the Director.

Ummm... ok. First of all, my intent in starting this thread was to showcase the movie, not quibble over who came up with the idea. Can we keep it that way? And second of all, summing up sexual noises as " natural human function" doesn't quite cut it. That video, while it is a good showcase of the film, is highly innapropriate at the beginning. Please remove it, or I'll report the post.

Not trying to sound like a dick here, but I believe that post is not only off topic, but also contains partial pornagraphic audio. I'm pretty sure that grounds for some kind of warning or ban. Any Mods care to back me up on this?

Well, you succeeded either way. Fine, it's going.

I love how sex is inappropriate to speak of, but cutting dudes to pieces in a game is okay.Oh, how the media-raped PC minds of today seem to overlook the relevance and importnce of something if it has a little blood or sex in it.

Also, the post was thoroughly on topic, as it was about the short the movie that you mention is based on. It IS 9.

Well, it's certainly off topic now seeing as I deleted a vid for having some audibly "questionable" (lol) content. Audio that was distorted most of the time, and whose vocalizations were artfully disguised as various metal creaks.

Anyway, to keep this post on topic, I've included a video of the short with everything that made it original and creepy cut out.

I'm sorry, "I didn't mean to sound like a dick there". BTW: Not meaning to be a dick is no excuse for being a dick.

Hah, yeah. I found it funny how they advertised Coraline as being made by the "Director of the Nightmare Before Christmas". Probably because more people would associate that credit and Coraline's art style with Tim Burton and go see it instead of the actual director...who I honestly would have to IMDB real quick to find out.

I think people might be brining it up because you noted 9 had Tim Burton themes in the first post. The short already had the art style and everything, so it's all from Aker. Props to Burton for being willing to stand behind new talent though. Just hope his name doesn't end up overshadowing the people he's trying to bring into the limelight. :)

I think the version Xalener linked is the full version of the short. I don't see any of its origniality missing in this cut. =P It's pretty neat, so if you have 10 minutes to spare, give it a look.

Now play nice people, and let's stick to talking about 9.

PS xalener: We don't cut dudes to piece in Halo, as you noted in your other post. =P

Well, Shane's getting a lot more recognition than Henry did. Too bad people are no where near as observant as they used to be.

I really do appreciate you removing the vid. Thanks. And also,

BTW: Not meaning to be a dick is no excuse for being a dick.

You're right. I'm sorry. I should be more careful with what I say. Hope you accept my apology. :unsure

Thanks for posting the new vid. It's good too! I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie, now that I know there was more to it than meets the eye. I think I'm gonna go google it to get the full story on Directors/Producers/Creators/etc. Just to make sure I'm informed. ;)
