Do you have any pics of your cardboard work?
Maybe you should try remaking the Pep Rails....
Keep in mind the cardboard should not be your final solution only a stepping stone to the final product....
A cardboard rough in, fiberglassed for strength, then bondo-ed smooth and pleasing to the eye.
And fabricating is not necessarily metal work - it can be any material. The work you did with cardboard was fabrication.
