well I'm an airsoft player and i bought an Cactus Hobby army of two mask which is made out of pvc + fiber glass shred only about 3mm strong and it neither bends or cracks under 550 fps.. probably more...
I'm currently making an army of two mask myself so i could make some tests later this week!
well I'm using fiberglass sheets but the cactus hobby mask is only made of pvc + some fiberglass shreds, its strong enough anyway
and yes you can use pvc with pepakura, I use resin to close up the biggest holes and fill in the pvc afterwards!
its for casting with molds but you can also pour it in your peps und rotate them till its hard (2-3 minutes), its has 2 components and is very easy to use...
there are some videos on the product page for more information...
Well technically I wont play at over 450 at 10 ft, 500 at 25 ft, or 550 at 50 ft (which impact at the same speed); However I don't trust other players not to turn it up, The test plates aren't actually part of the armor
depending on how thick youre fiberglass sheets are, one layer should be more than enough...
there was a youtube video were someone tested my cactus hobby mask with an 1000 fps air gun without shooting trough it, so i think that pepakura + rondo + fiberglass is more than enough for airsoft...
No. We do not encourage the use of Pepakura as Armor for Airsoft engagements, no matter how many layers of Fiberglass you use. Use certified protection only. You have been warned.
Well I am using certified materials on the visor and i usually play airsoft in a tee shirt and shorts, I just wanted to see if it would crack. It is not for protection and I would still wear safety glasses underneath.
