Can't wait to see your Robin build! I had the notion of making an Arkham City Nightwing costume, but I don't know anything on latex for the mask or foam for the suit. Good luck!

ok , so , i've been working on a bane outfit a few weeks ago , i'm planning to go to the dark knight rises' "opening night"
here's what i've done so far

Dude this is my favorite out of them all but dude the creativity is amazing... really really good job

arms

well , it's been a while hasn't it ...
now that the 405th is up again i can continue my thread !
so , first i traced some figures in foamies and cut them out
IMG-20120804-00348-1.jpg

IMG-20120804-00349-1.jpg

IMG-20120804-00350-1.jpg

IMG-20120804-00352-1.jpg

IMG-20120804-00353.jpg

after that , i glued everything together with hot glue
IMG-20120804-00354.jpg

i used some cheap fingerless gloves i found at walmart
IMG-20120804-00355.jpg

IMG-20120805-00357.jpg

i then painted the gloves green
IMG-20120809-00373.jpg

i added some scratches with a sharpie that i had
IMG-20120809-00374.jpg

IMG-20120809-00375.jpg

i bought some nylon webbing and buckles to the forearms
IMG-20120809-00378.jpg

i painted the forearms green and also added some "scratches" to them
IMG-20120810-00379.jpg

i bought a 2m length pvc pipe , and a foamie sheet
i measured the middle of the pipe and the middle of the foam sheet (the long side) , then i marked where i should glue it , after that i measured the middle of the short side and drew a line from half to half , then i measured 1 cm from the line, then 5 mm , then 5mm and so on until i got to the other end and measured 1 cm again, i drew bars out of the measurements , and cut every other bar (shown in pic)
IMG-20120806-00358.jpg

did that for about 15 minutes until i finally finished , then i glued all of the bars around
IMG-20120806-00359.jpg

IMG-20120806-00360.jpg

then i covered the handle part with black electrical tape
IMG-20120808-00371.jpg

please give me some feedback, it really helps me, i'll keep updating this soon !!!

grappling gun , batclaw or zip kick

Well , alter a lot (i mean it , a LOT) of research for pics , i finally mannaged to make my Destin of the arkham city grappling gun
Scan180812_154531.jpg

Scan180812_154417.jpg

i traced the gun on foamboard and twice on some cereal box cardboard
IMG-20120807-00361.jpg

i then traced all of the detailsof the gun on more cardboard
IMG-20120807-00362.jpg

IMG-20120807-00364.jpg

i then sanded some of the edges alter glueing all the detail cardboard pieces , befote glueing them to the actual gun piece
IMG-20120807-00364.jpg

all glued up !
IMG-20120808-00367.jpg

then i did a Light coat of whiteglue and then sraypainted it Black
IMG-20120808-00369.jpg

IMG-20120808-00370.jpg

then i used some grey acrylic painting to weather it and add some details , alter a full day of cutting, glueing and painting i was done
IMG-20120809-00372.jpg

i actually loved how this came out .

please tell me what you think , i really apreciate it , more coming soon !

belt

for this i made 5 circles out of a jeep shoe box i had, i cut a rectangle out of 2 of them , and then 2 small rectangles at the edges of the first rectangle out of 2 pieces to make the belt buckle , and i left one complete

IMG-20120810-00382.jpg

then i made a copies of the full circle one on cereal box cardboard and cut out the details , as well as some rectangle-like details

IMG-20120810-00381.jpg

then i sanded the edges and used a body filler material for walls
after that i made a quick box desgin that i traced on cereal box cardboard to make the rest of the belt

IMG-20120811-00383.jpg

i then made a coat of white glue on the outside and inside to add strength to the boxes, then i spraypainted everything gold , as well as some buckles i bought

IMG-20120813-00394.jpg

then i finally added a cellphone case to carry my phone or camera and money (in case i go to a con)

IMG-20120918-00423.jpg

please tell me what you think about the costume so far, it really helps me, there's more to come soon

Fantastic! Digging the Robin gloves. Just so everyone knows, there ARE BATMAN PEP FILES! Yes, believe it or not, there is, and they are on the RPF, here: http://www.therpf.com/f24/batman-ac-pepakura-development-139793/

I figured since this is the only real batman thread on here that it would be best to link here. The only reason why I haven't built all of them yet is, I'm busy with another project, but will make them someday, hope you are able to put some of these to good use! Good luck!

chest

using the templates i made , i traced that on foam , i added a little extra length so it would cover most of my abdominal section , i then added the details and turned out to be like this
IMG-20120915-00412.jpg

i then used the upper chest templates and traced them on the foam
IMG-20120917-00414.jpg

i added some buckles with nylon webbing to attach it to my body
i noticed i messed up a piece and do it again (black piece)
IMG-20120917-00417.jpg

i started painting it with a bright red paint ... and noticed that the black foam piece didn't like being painted
IMG-20120917-00418.jpg

so i took a primer to paint the black section to paint red again there
IMG-20120917-00419.jpg

IMG-20120917-00420.jpg

i covered the chest with paper and tape exept the R logo , and painted it gold
IMG-20120917-00421.jpg

and i then noticed the paint was finished ... so i went to a hardware store and bought another paint , they didn't have the same paint i had , so i bought the most similar one ... so i thought it wouldn't look any different ... big mistake ... well not at the end , the one i bought was a darker tone , so i painted everything with that paint ... and it turned out better
IMG-20120918-00422.jpg

tell me what you think , i really appreciate all kinds of feedback

The only problem I saw with it was in the full body shot I saw was that the piece didn't overlap, maybe a another sheet of foam, other than that I give two thumbs up! Don't take it personal the lack of interest, 405th is Halo Oriented with a little bit of Iron Man (a lot more recently...) but Batman isn't favored by the masses (just me and you I guess :p ), so don't worry, you're work is pretty good. Keep it up!

P.S. I've heard a dremmel rotary tool will help smooth out foam edges, just a tip.

Thanks !
I already solved the overlaping issue , first , the ab piece was too low , and the upper chest piece's "belts" werre too tight , plus i glued a nylon webbing strip inside to keep everything together
And i am aware that the 405th is halo oriented ... That's pretty much why i made a single batman thread , instead of making a sepparate thread for bane , robin , the harley quinn gun , etc. , i just wanted to show what other things i do , other than halo armor ...
And i used the dremel in certain parts of the chest , such as the edges of the pieces and the little hole shape on the chest and abs, and to ad detail on some scratches

thanks for all the nice comments that inspire me to keep going
