I have been creating 501st costumes over the past couple of years and decided to shift back to my Halo roots and finally complete a Halo build, this time aiming for a Spartan. I quickly knew that I wanted to build Kat’s armor from Halo: Reach. I will be using Calto elevator shoes and in costume I stand at 6’6”ish, only a couple of inches shorter than her canonical height.
All of my armor pieces I have already printed in ABS. I have almost completed part prep and prime on everything. I have been working on finishing my helmet first for somewhat of a proof of concept and a visual piece to keep my motivation high. The bucket has been painted its final color, decals created and applied, fans and harness system installed, and only needs detail work and weathering. I have been casting silicone under suit elements from 3D printed molds, still a work in progress on that front.
I’m hoping to be done by mid November, but I don’t really have any hard deadlines until March. Anyways, figured I’d share a little bit of my progress here, hope y’all like it!
