Just curious if any other members of this site do any costuming outside of the Halo related armor. I know I've seen a Karas thread and an Ironman thread...so anyone else?
I've made a lot of props from video game stuff, but I'm not gonna throw up pictures if no one cares...lol.
You can look around the site, you'll see many members do other things.
Darkesword makes storm and clone trooper armor and goes to cons in the costumes.
Also, Desolate does other costumes. I believe Honest Insanity as well.
I'm pretty sure some if not most of the vets here are costumers...I'm one, both a costumer and propwork/propcostume builder. mind you, I'm not a hardcore one as I have a day job but I indulge whenever I can.
I own and wear a TE ANH Sandtrooper [my third trooper suit], came in kit form and took me about 2 weeks to trim build and paint. That's me 2nd from the left, with the orange pauldron:
Also just finished my ROTJ Boba Fett, that took me about 5 years to get it just right. :
Besides hard armor, I have a V for vendetta as well...:
I worked on props as well, sculpting and scratch building a Dr Doom V1 Helm that was available on the RPF. Reworked a POS PR, and am now in the midst of reconverting it again to a 'hero' as i've just managed to obtain a ACM Thompson SMG.
Cadet, I take it you also go by TK2386 (on cos.com?). Are you going to Ohayo this year? If so, I'll be there as well...let me know, maybe meet-up or something could happen

I'm thinking about going, I actually have to get in contact with them and see if they want us (501st) to do another panel on prop and costume construction like we did last year.
Wow! All of those are really, really nice! I'm curious, did you eyeball them all, or did you find a pattern that worked for them and modify it?
That aside, I myself have done some Jedi costuming for a while now. I wore this costume at Celebration IV and CCI this year.
It isn't the best picture, but It shows off the costume... mostly accurately.
(And that was a placeholder lightsaber - my actual saber broke on the ride down.)
Do you know that robot fork lifter of off alian:sumin. Well im workin on thatr costume. its gona be foam board+fibregalss(cloth)

My favorite costuming/prop making universes:
-Halo
-WH40k (especially Imperial Guard, for Airsoft)
-Star Wars
-Gears (I want to do something in that soon)
-My own future sci-fi universe (unnamed, look to see progress on it soon)

Finished the plush keyblade I made for this little 10 year old orphan I chill with today...Gonna ship it off tomorrow.
I'm in the process of making a Big Daddy Bouncer from Bioshock im just waiting for my custom plastic dome to come in the mail then i can really get started!
