i actually didnt think of doing that until now. Thanks! i will have to try it!
LMAO!!!
I've actually had that happen a time or two myself. I don't know if you're at all familiar with Star Trek, but anyway...
There was this one time I'd bought a machined aluminum handle/power pack (non-working, of course) for a Phaser One/Phaser Two prop replica -- like what they used on the Original Series, back in the late 60's -- from a guy down in Washington, DC.
I sent him payment via Paypal, he sent the handle out that same week, but it took more than a month to get to me. I corresponded with him a few times in that month, and he made several stops at the Post Office to find out what was going on with it.
Turned out it had gotten as far as the Canada/US border in less than two weeks, but got stopped there because the Customs agents didn't know what it was, and so thought maybe it was part of a weapon of some sort. Which it was, technically, but not a real-world, working weapon, lol.
I'd definately suggest you sell those permutations with the knife molded IN, not separately. That might save you and your buyers a little aggravation in the long run, lol.
I really think that would be kewl if you went that route, as I'm sure there would be a lot of people here wanting to get those for thier own armour, but don't necessarily want to put the time and effort into making them. I don't doubt there'd be a good deal of demand for that sort of thing. Could work out very well for you...

you know, SPARTAN II, you seem to have a plethora of knowledge. Thanks for your intrest in my sad masquerade called armor building
Well thanks, rvb. I know as much as I do about this sort of thing due to the seven-plus years of experience I've gained being in the prop hobby.
Also, whenever I've worked on a scratch-build project of some sort, I've always taken into consideration just how I could it make available to others, as most of what I scratch-build are rarer/hard-to-find pieces, so I know there'd be a good market for them, lol.
HALO armour is no different. As I've been working on my own, I'd already given some thought as to what I could develop that would be of more interest to others here. I like to think of it as my way of trying to give something back to the community, if only in a small way
And, I
always take interest in others' work. I mean, we're all here for the same reason, and I find it interesting to see just what others do to make thier work unique and more personalized. As for your "sad masquerade called armor building", don't sell yourself short. I really think you've been making good work on your armour, and your progress.
Hey, even those of us more experienced in prop-building and the like had to start somewhere, so it's not like you're the only one.
It's all pretty kewl, imho.
