Answering some of the old questions I missed, most have probably been answered anyway but I just like to stay on top of things when I can

... I like the design and tried to nab the pep files, but they seem to be private or some such thing. Are they not currently being shared?...
That was something wrong on my end, must have happened when I shifted the files around, should be fixed now for anyone else wondering.

This doesn't really count as a necro because this is in the Elite Showcase, right? Anyway, I was looking at the recon(naissance) pep files on the wiki and saw the two helmet details. I figured out that one of them goes on the top, but where does the "Face_Add-on" go? TIA
As others have posted since you posted this, that add-on was for Slyfo's Recon pep file, for people that had already built his helmet but wanted to fill in the face that he had removed on his. Otherwise it's useless.

hey guys, i was just doing some day dreaming in class, and i got to wondering, when those of you who have made recon armour, more specifically, the chest peace, how did you go about making it ?
1) did you resin and fiberglass the inside of the of the recon chest part separately before attaching it to the Mk VI chest peace ?
or
2) did you just attach it all together in the pep stage and just resin and fiberglass the thing as a whole ?
and secondly, would it be a smarter idea to built the chest peace the way option #1 describes ?
What I did was build the standard Mk VI chest, got it all sanded and whatnot, and then attached the pep Recon chest to it to be resined. Once its hard enough you can
carefully cut the add-on off (I used small dabs of hot glue to secure it, much like spot welding) and resin/fiberglass the inside of the add-on.
Another thing you can do, which I have on all my chest perms, is to cover the front of the Mk VI chest with something like packing tape, attach the chest perm you're building with hot glue (again like spot welding), and then fill the cavity between the two pieces with expanding foam.
Once you've got the foam in there you can put some weight on it to keep them together and seperate the pieces once the foam cures. That way you end up with a chest perm that will lock on to the standard chest and not wiggle 'round. You still need to secure it with magnets or screws but it fits together much better.
I'll see if I can get some photos of the CQB that I did this way if people want to see it.

hey if anyone could contact Hugget. Tell him to make another visor for the security helmet please! The helmet and the visor don't fit together. Please and thank you!
The Security visor does fit, you just have to modify it a little. What I did was glue the top center of the visor to the correct place on the helmet and work my way around with hot glue, when you get most of it fitted you'll need to cut some of the side of the visor to get it to fit but it will get there in the end.

What is the scale on your green and black helmet?
The scale for that is 26cm, which is the default for my file. Having said that it was probably more like 24cm after shrinkage caused by the fiberglassing. The clay helmet now is probably back up to 26cm, maybe a little more.

That's because he's working on something else that will just blow us all away. Watch, three months from now, you're going to come into this thread and be like w8wut because he'll have figured out a working shield system. XD
Oi! You'll spoil the surprise!!
Actually I did/do have a shield on my armour, the handplate specifically, but you can't really see it in photos and even up close it's hard to see... I really need to perfect it one of these days...
