Lol yeah there were alot of pieces with no tabs that should have HAD tabs. I made my own.... I'm handy like that I guess... depending on the piece that needed it I used:

cardstock for the little pieces

cardboard for the medium gaps

and for the uber big pieces I used a mix of cardstock and aluminum (my collection of Diet Coke cans came in handy :D )

Hope that help anyone whos also doin RvB's H2 pep build ;)

I just tried that today, glad to see that you did the same thing. I glued the stock to the bottom tabless piece so I can finish my lower, thankfully I noticed that a piece had dried off-kilter so I could fix it first or it would have been a week down the drain.

I knew it, I just effin knew I would screw up badly......

So I managed to instal all 8 screws and they looked magnificent.... while I was checkin them out I held the rifle, butt first, up to my face and saw that the screws on each side wernt alignd with each other, I thought that was impossible because I spent 5 hours just making sure the measurements were correct. I then took a closer look at each side and found that SOMEHOW I effed up the rubber part.... They are equally matched on each side, but one side was higher than the other.... How I did that is still unknown to me....

So now I'm depressed, Ive gone to far into it that I cant back out and redo what Ive done.. So as far as perfection goes... I just threw it out the window   ....

Though I messed up horribly, I will "keep truckin" to get everythign else done.... maybe one mistake isnt so bad....actually (sorry, im thinking while I type), I might be able to mask my mistake with alot more rubber......hmm, TO THE DRAWING BOARDS!....

Ok.. let me get this straight.. you made that out of paper?.. o_O .... Fricking paper.. That rocks BlacRoseImmortal :).
The stuff you all make here.. just blows my mind..... You go girl.. it looks great. :) And just remember, No matter how good something turns out when you are done with it.. you will always find flaws with it. ;)

That sounds like my working methods. *Measure twice, cut, realize something's wrong, check your measurements, realize you screwed up on a reference point, reach for board lengthener...

Good luck on the project. :D

Daz iz zoo perfekt ZNIPA SHOOTA!!!!!(wh40k ork)
...Keep it up!!!

And Leatherneck, sounds like me too....
Sorry to hear you screwed....

Hey hey! :D

I finally have a little time to jump in here and check things out, lol. I really like where this is at so far, BRI. That bondo job you've done looks pretty good. Just a little smoothing needed, apply some surface details and you're good to go, imho.

Oh, and I can't recall what page of this thread that was on, but remember what I said about priming/painting ;)

Ah, it's nice to have you back SPARTAN II :]

I have just done the first coat of primer on the body and I'll start making the detailed body templates once I have the rubber parts done (looks liek I might finish the rubber sometime today  ) I'm currently working on the handle/grip part and I'm so impressed with whats done so far done that I'm almost over my "little mistake".

My To Do List for the next 3 days:
*Finish Rubber
*Start Rondoing Scope
*Play alot of Halo
*Get all of the templates cut and perfected
*Get a early birthday present for myself .....aka, a tattoo
*Rondo the rest of the body, including the legs and the ....round part that I never got aroudn to...lol
*If I get ^ done, I want to also primer the whole body so it's one solid color lol

I hope I can get all of that done.... wishful thinking :]

Oh I forgot, for a little bit of a verbal teaser...

The Sniper Rifle looks NOTHING like it did in the last "up-to-date" picture as of right this second. I bet about half of you guys will tell me that it's not the same rifle when I get pictures up on Monday ;)

I promise that by monday night i'll be showing off the only other SR in existence (for now lol) besides WETAs that is practically in-game acurate.

......I just thought to myself "wow, I need to get out more..." heh.

Again, I'm sorry for the double post but I couldn't help myself... Here is a teaser picture:

And this is just the beginning of my long weekend. Please, Oh Please tell me what you think.

Note that this picture was just taken after a quick spray of primer... I have NOT evened out the the rubber just yet, I'll do that tomarrow. If you want to check the accuracy, Pull up a picture of a SR in H3 and compare it to my picture. I am SOOO freakin giddy right now :D

So you have one small error in your fantastic SR. You're doing a helluva job on it so keep it up! Make sure you get some pics up Monday - I want to see the progress! Maybe I'll catch you on live this weekend.

Where did you get the stuff from? looks like it would be interesting... plus I have an idea to use it for something... :p

I used Plasti-dip and Plasti- spray on. First I used the plati dip and poured it on....heavly and smoothed it out with a plastic spreader, after that cured and i had the right hight to it I used the plasti-spray to make a thin layer on top and added the detail that needed to be there. After everythign has been finallized I used an xacto blade to cut away the excess and a mouse sander to make it smooth (and look sort of battle damaged). It has taken me 2 full days just to do this.. the plasti dip had to be done in layers to build up the rubber.

you can find these rubber things at Home Depot. I think the plasti-dip cost me $14 and the spray was $16.
