Borderlands Psycho Bandit Mask Project

Hello and salutations. I am kinda new here but have been making for years. Currently I am working on a Psycho Bandit for the midnight release at GameStop.

So here is the first model I made with Pep and a light coat of resin.

I did not like how the eyes came out with that one so I decided to try again with another 3d file. I liked how the eye-sockets came out on this one much better.

This is after 3 or so coats of bondo and cutting out the eye sockets.

Just added the first coat of body putty. Gonna start shaping the details tomorrow.

Got the first layer of body putty smoothed out and primed.

Added the fan in the front now to just make the center of the fan, make the sockets for the eyes, and put lenses in it and we will be ready to send to my painter.

I used a pvc reducer pipe along with a dead xbox 360 fan for the vent. Luckily there are two and I managed to break the first one.

Got the mask painted off white today for the base color. Gotta get the fan post installed, the eye sockets and lenses installed then its off to my painter. If any of you have experience in vacuum forming, should I wait to have it painted after I use it as a master mold or does it even matter? Also where do you shop for the plastic sheets?

Got the preliminary paint worked out, its not the final paint job but we have everything that needs to be changed before he does the final paint job.

Dude! That looks perfect! You got it down with that paint job, totally looks cell shaded. Major props I can't wait to see it with the eyes and all.

Got the eye sockets pep'ed, resin and sanded down a bit. The pep file I used was not that good so its going to take a ton of shaping.

Got the lenses cut and the eye sockets reshaped, bondo, filled and painted... Had an accident with the dremel on the right lens so I had to add a bit of filler. The pep file I got for the eye sockets was way off size and shape so I just ground it down and resized it via the dremel tool. Gonna get the fan painted tomorrow along with the eye's put together.

Got most of the mask assembled today. Still needs to be painted but I am going to wait until after I get the vacuum forming finished.

Wow dude, that looks freaking awesome! I've been thinking of trying my hand at this myself but I have been unable to locate a good looking pep file, Is there a chance you could post a link to the one you used? It would be much appreciated.

okay, I know this is a ressurection, but this is one of the only completed psycho builds on this site '^.^

for the mouth fan you said something about a pvc reducer? why the pvc reducer? or any idea what else would work? (currently stuck at that part of my own build)
