Cardboard spiker

I started on my cardboard spiker in school, I haven't worked on it for about a month now, but I am planning on working more

I have the general shape down, but i was wondering.
How do you make an appropriately sized piece to fill the holes on both ends of the actual gun part
I don't have the measurements handy right now either
I tried, but i can't seem to do it right, I'll get pictures up tomorrow probably, I need to get to bed -.-
