That's a fantastic idea! Thanks.
it may or may not work, it just makes sense to me, when you cut 'em out and put 'em opposite, it would be indented instead of bumped out, and like vacuum cleaner hose cut in half is what I believe they use for the Chief helmets below his cheeks, and the ridged parts look similar to the chiefs cheek ridges, so that's my suggestion. although you may have to trim the pieces back, if they indent too much.

I don't know if it will work or not, I'm not a certified pep instructor, lol it just makes sense to me, to line the pieces up on the opposite cheek so they indent instead of bump out, and vacuum cleaner hose cut in half long ways is what they use for the chief helms, like the parts near his cheeks, and your CQB ridges look very similar, so that's my suggestion. although you may have to trim the indents a little if they bump in too much, but it doesn't look like it would be a problem. Oops, sorry for the double post, I didn't think it went through the first time...

It should work, anyway, Good work!, I hate peping! :p Kudos to you for peping all that!

Ok so that idea didn't pan out. The curve of the helmet is reflected in the cheek pieces. If I had done the pep with those parts inside out it would have worked great but after resin, not so much. Still now I have holes for the ridged bits and I'm working on forming a piece out of ABS plastic to fill it in and house everything. Also built up the raised areas on the top of the head and back of the neck a bit more with some bondo so those should look pretty sweet once it's cured and sanded.

In other news, got resin in my first forearm and handplate and they fit, YAY.

I got some primer on them since that pic so I can see where I need bondo and where I need sanding.

And yes, that is my laptop in the background there so now you know I am literally posting and updating this AS I am working.

oh yea, duh, I didn't factor that one in... oh well. it would make it look really buckled if you did what I had suggested, lol I was just suggesting, you don't think of things like that when the model isn't sitting in front of you.. :p the gauntlet and handplate look BFAB though! good luck with the CQB, I thought about doin that one for a while, but opted for the hazop. But if you need any more suggestions, throw 'em up, cause I like to think creatively and help people out! even if it doesn't pan out all the time.. :p Well, Umm, I was curious, so I looked at a few reference pics of the perms of Reach, and Halo 3, and I'm afraid to tell you, I believe you have a Halo 3 CQB helm. the reach second piece is indented on the cheek, and Halo 3 is bumped out.

Great job with the forearm, it looks good! I'm glad it fits, I hate it when I build something and then it doesn't fit!

Yeah, the problem I encountered is that all the pep files for the CQB I found are like this. This one was labeled as a Reach CQB file but reallt the only difference is that they made the cheeks bits smaller. If I had done my research first instead od just doing the pep and diving into the resin I would have been able to save myself a lot of work now.

But I have a plan and this build should go fine.

Oh gosh, that sucks!!!! well, I'm watchin the progress, I wanna see how it turns out. Good Luck!

And this is how I fixed it:

I changed the shape of the opening and blocked the hole with paper, cardboard and resin. When complete it should be nearly impossibly to tell where the patch is and what the indent is made of. HAHA...cardboard.

Improvision: the best awesomesauce!!! pep files are like recipes, not mandates, but road maps. great job!!!!!! :D

Well I'm happy with how close it is. In the morning I'll carve out some lines and start painting.

better watch out, Imma jack it from you!!! hahaha it's fantabulous dude, a great eyeball scratchbuild considering the shortcomings!!!

Superb job on everything... I am really interested in seeing your Chest for the first one...I too am involved in a project that has the Collar/Breacher Chest.....it looks very hard...best of luck!!!

Thanks, I noticed it was backwards a couple hours later but it's all good. I'm going to do extensive research on each part before I actually mount anything.

Fantastic job on fixing the indentation. I think it came out wonderfully and cant wait to see it with a coat of paint
