That looks pretty damn good man.
Are you going to add extra detail with thin foam over the top?
Either way can't wait for more updates :)

Thanks. I'm going to use the thin foam to create the raised edges on the parts and also find a way to add the rivets everywhere. I'm hoping I can find a large box of rivets at Lowes or something, or maybe just use googly eyes. To create the pattern for the black wavy areas, I'm not too sure what I want to do. Either take the tip of my hot glue gun and etch those details in, or use the glue to create the wavy, wrinkled like texture. So either addition or subtraction haha.

I tried this on a Mandalore the Ultimate helmet I built and it made really cool burn marks so I'll try the texture on some scrap before I even dare try it on my pieces haha.

or burn marks making it look like you fought a dragon?

Maybe in time I might add burn details to a second set of armor, possibly even have a couple horns on the helmet broken/hacked off. For this set, however, I want to keep it as clean as I can.

So a little update for today.

I began building the shoulders but soon realized.....I forgot to scale them up... DOH! at least I wasn't far into the build when I realized it. Every time I get too caught up in a build I always get ahead of myself and forget to scale. bah oh well. The templates I made for the shoulders need some serious revamping, stupid crazy to build, messy open edges and just poor unfolding on my part. Also building it inverted was super confusing for me. I will be inverting the model and doing that process all over again as I did with my helmet. It is badly needed though so I'll hopefully be printing out the new templates tonight.

yeah did that with my frist plasma rifle, it was too small. now I've got two of them the right size.

Yeah, Now they are scaled properly and it added ~80mm to the height haha, about a 20% increase in scale. Huge difference.

For fantasy spaulders like these, the bigger the better!....right? haha

--EDIT--

Alright so I have finally finished the new unfold and it looks much better. I also updated the 4shared file. I'll print it out tonight but I'll start building tomorrow so be on the lookout for pictures!

just wondering are you planning on making one of each of the armors? if so I'd might need help with the other suit I've got for a friend yeah it's the side kick which is the canon fodder and she wants glass shine's, with a orc helm, and blades chest, steel plate boots, and then just to make my mind flip a few times and dragon forearms which I don't even have the file's for but that's my problem. because in my town they also have a middle age's event they even have sword fight's with foam swords so my glass sword and dragon sword will have some battle damage by the end of the summer.

I hadn't planned on it, just this armor and possibly a second daedric set with burns and chunks missing, maybe fabricate a dragon skull to carry around so it looks like I just fought a dragon. I can still help you with your friend's build though, just send me a PM :)

--Update--

So I built the bigger shoulder piece and it still looks a bit small BUT I like it so I'll be keeping them at this scale. I'll just have to up the scale of the sword a bit ;) haha no just kidding.

Anyways, here's some pictures of the shoulder attached to the chest piece:

I also had to trim the back of the helmet a bit so I could turn my head and look up:

I still have a little section to fill in on the shoulder. There is a little lip that should be there but I want it to be flat, plus I don't think anyone will notice anyways haha. Hopefully I'll have the smaller shoulder done tomorrow and then I'll add the raised detail and rivets. Almost done!

it's okay you can stick you're head out I don't have an axe or a fire spell.

It does look like a turtle retreating into his shell xD. The helmet fell into the chest right when I took the picture.

I had no idea you were working on this! It looks amazing!!!

Thanks! I'm hoping to be done very soon. I'm also pondering whether or not I should rebuild my Gen 2 'Busa with my new foam skills. Maybe in the far future I might haha. I'm just waiting for some funds so I can get all the paint supplies so I can finally finish it.

I still think its turley enough for the turtle club :) amazing job

Haha thanks. After a long internal debate, I ended up increasing the scale of the shoulders another 20%. 3rd time's a charm!....hopefully. I'll be going to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and once I return I shall start building the shoulder again.

--Update--

Yeeesssssssssssss the shoulder looks SOOO much better now. I'm really glad I took it up another 20%.

Here is a picture comparing the two:

and with just the torso and helmet:

One more shoulder to go! I have some school stuff to get to so I'll probably be able to get it done by Wednesday, maybe Thursday. The torso is really awkward with the side built so I will be cutting the sides off and using straps with buckles, hopefully leather straps like tiny belts to get a more authentic feel. When this is done, I believe it will be one of maybe 3-4 Daedric builds out there.

I have a tall torso so I had to scale it up a bit to fit. Also it looks really wide because I split the sides, like a poncho, and I never shaped them with the heat gun so they straightened back out. The front is nearly flat in the pictures without me wearing it so it's not it's proper shape. The helmet I could probably scale up another 10% bit it fits. It doesn't look too awkwardly proportioned when wearing it haha.

heck I think dragon bone shoulders would look pretty good on it. to bad we can't do that in game.

I think on PC you can haha (granted you have to change the mesh of the object in a CAD program, similar to custom textures only much more difficult).
