"DONUT" the ODST(Time to make upgrades)

Is that in a spray can? Do you know if it comes in a bottle for an airbrush? I'm building from foam, and spray paint cracks when foam is flexed. Airbush however is finer and will not crack with movement
Yea, it is a spray. I don't know if they have bottle. They may offer than since they're like, a "fancier" spray paint company

Gotcha. I have some chrome metallic airbrush paint but I haven't tested it yet to see if it's the finish I want. I may go more of the matte look but I'm still not sure yet honestly.

And the flexibility of the foam is definitely a plus! It is a LOT of work though. I've been working with foam for 10 years or so, and the ODST has been my biggest challenge yet. A lot of pieces and sharp angles and weird shapes. The shins and the gauntlets specifically gave me the most trouble. I had to make the base of the gauntlet 7 times to get the scale right.

Repainting has begun. Sanded down the major components that im reusing.

Originally I used Montana Gold "Basalt" as the base coat, but it was too green for what I wanted. That being said, there wasnt time before Megacon to fix it.

Mega had a bunch of learning points for me, and there was a ton of room for funtional improvement. Since I've gotta remake like half of it, I'm repainting all of it with Montana Gold "Anthracite" for a base. This is exactly the color I imagined when I first used Basalt.

Torso back and abdomen have been reprinted in PLA Flexible too.

This looks amaziiiing! I love the knife so much! Also huge thanks for selling me on the Anthracite cause I was worried it would be too dark, and hide a lot of detail but I actually think its spot on.

I originally bought it for the forearm and thigh camo parts. As soon as I applied it, I knew I'd have to repaint the whole thing with it

Been absent for a long while, but I'm back at it. Gotta get everything set and done in time for Megacon. My awful procrastination has resulted in an accidental con-crunch between my current ODST modifications, coupled with trying to complete another ODST for a co-worker.

Biggest change(other than comfort design changes) will be a repaint from the Montana Gold Basalt to Montana Gold Anthracite

Got roped into making an ODST for a coworker while also working on mine. Because I didnt have enough projects going at once...
I think that's called "armor party". You have him come over and help do it assembly line style. He learns. You balance the workload.

Here's how you used the orbital sander on all of these freshly printed parts. {his and yours}

You do all of those and I'll get the paint booth set up.
