Dremel Tool?

I'm in the market of getting a rotary tool, to use on my predator and iron man helmets. Mainly to cut out the eyes. I work at K-mart so I was thinking about getting this cordless dremel but, I want other opinions.

Dremels are great investments.
I try to stay away from cordless tools like these just because if the battery becomes low, I need to wait for it to charge and the battery will become deffective while time goes by.

i know cordless may sound spectacular when working with it but trust me go for a variable speed corded dremel. Everyone I've come across who has the cordless ends up buying the regular one anyways because of the battery life. Once it starts to die, it loses power and you have to charge it again.

Thanks, also this version doesn't come with a chargeable battery it uses AA. Which is one of the reasons I thought I'd ask.

I absolutely LOVE the Dremel 400 XPR. 10-speed corded, maxes out at 45,000RPM, if I recall. Never had any problems, except that the normal cut-off heads are prone to snapping if accidentally tilted while cutting.

Buy the kit, you get the wizard doodad attachment.

Like Others that have chimed in I would suggest you save up a bit more and get a corded Rotary tool with the flexible shaft .. However there are other Brands out there For example

while It is not a Dremel brand rotary tool it does come with a lot of accessories that are good to have and can be pricey if bought separately..

I also recommend a corded tool with the flexible accessory- it gives you that bit more room and incidentally helps keep the dust that kicks up away from the body of the tool. I lost my first one due to way too much dust getting in and frying the motor.

Mine is a Ryobi and has variable speed. Seems to have a bit of a problem with the speed control though, noticed that with my first one as well. Just saw a genuine Dremel on sale here. Sigh. But mine has been going nicely for 18 months now and I don't know what I'd do without it

Yeah, that's what I was talkin' about. The flexible accessory. Get the 400 XPR kit, and you'll have that, plus a whole load of awesome accessories.

If I may make a suggestion, wearing safety glasses with it is great a must. But also use a face shield when using it those carbide cutting disc can grenade on you suddenly and it can do some serious damage. I have a 4" scare on my arm from one.

I just purchased this dremel tool at a store called Harbor Freight. The store always has cheaper, but quality tools. It only costs $9.99 in store or $6.99 online, and is manufactored by CHICAGO Electric Power Tools. For an 80pc possible starter set, I didn't think it would be to bad. Just a matter of using it now.

Yes protect you eyes. The dremel likes to spit debris at your face. Learned my lesson a couple of years ago. When I got a tiny piece of the nail I was cutting. in my eye. That put me out for a few days.
