well, here is somthing. the environment. if we are going toi have super soldiers in 2525, then we at least need to have a planet in 2525.
so, i was thinking, what can we do to make our modeling process more eco friendly, for example, there are many chemicals we use, and the amount of card i go through for peping must be a whole tree.

so i was thinking of making an eco guide to modeling armour. now this isnt that serious, im not going to get Al gore to come along and help, hell might even do some funny pictures of me in my armour watering flowers and planting trees, but more as a guide of how to cut down on waste.

e.g, all the cardstock that i dont use, i recycle, and i believe in some countries people will pay you if you give them card to recycle.
other examples could be cling film / celophane inside the resin mixer pot, so you can use it again and agoin, without wasting a whole mixing tub.

this is just a blue sky idea, and will possibly not get very far, but just consider, and if there is anything that you do to help cut down, post it and see if we can create a better world.
in the words of Sgt. Johnson "they must love the smell of gree" and he is talking about green leaves and happy ness

disclamer : i am a design student taught by a hippy, and i get bombarded with eco nonsense all the time, and if you dont believe that we are affecting the earth, then i am ok with that, after all, it is just my opinion that i think we are, so please no flaming or hate, and mods, i dont mind if you get rid of this, or move it, it is just an idea.

One things for true, aqua resin should be mass produced. It's harmless to the user and the environment.
And recycling cardstock is a good idea. We should to get the scaling down right the first time through intense measuring, because I think scaling is the biggest trail and error. That's all I can really add. Maybe some non toxic body filler. Is honzo even toxic? I know you need a respirator.

Bondo is based on polyester resin, which means it's just as harmful.

The important thing to do with the chemicals is dispose of them properly. They, along with the cans they come in, are often not supposed to go to the dump.

Honestly, I doubt that one plastic cup is going to make a big difference. You could be a lot more environment-friendly by not buying a new XBox every year just because it comes in a different colour, by buying things that are made in countries where you know sensible laws apply and are met, by turning the computer off and going to the library for an hour every day or just by walking instead of driving everywhere.
Pro tip: Many people don't realise it, but buying groceries on foot every day is better, cheaper and more environment friendly than driving to the supermarket once a week after visiting the gym!

ypu have a truly good point that we are making little impact ourselves, and even as a group as there are so few of us, and the amoun of resin we go through as a group per year is probarbly less than a single company in one day, but where we dont excel is waste. wheras companies would try to be efficient, we waste alot of materials that could be reused, for example, pepakura, and muc of that card, while completely biodegredable, could be recycled. so while there are very few tips that can be made i was just thinking about how it might even help you, such as Doctor Napkin said, if you get the measurements right first time then you wont waste card, which is cheap, but everone loves extra money.

and wile it is tricky, such as out armour would suck if we stopped usin bondo, or smoothcast, becasue no matter what, they will always give of chemicals.

and of course the big hippy, "if we all group together we can make a difference"

rofl. dont worry, im not 100% hippy, i still love the idea blowing someones head off in fallout. in truth maybey there is not much we can do, but in a way it may save you money, and i said, we all love money right?
