Generally, if I'm working on a piece that has a lot of pages, I only cut out the pieces I'm going to be working with. I'll cut out parts that make up a small assembly, get them scored, folded and assembled, then put them onto the piece, then move on to cutting out the next group of pieces. That also helps in organization; I don't have a huge pile of cut out pieces that I have to sift through to find the right part. If the parts remain on the paper, I can refer to the model in Pepakura to find any given piece.

I like to get all the tedious bits out of the way first. I cut it all, I fold it all usually when I'm watching tv at night, then I can glue glue glue!
This is how I organise my pieces :) For this piece, I'm keeping 3 pages of bits per sleeve. It's easy to find the bits I need!

The knife I use is like an exacto but it's made my Fiskars and has a shaped rubber grip. It's much easier on the hands but it still takes it's toll after a long time cutting haha

Update

Front of chest is done. I'm using the separated pepakura file to save myself the panic attack of cutting it later.
I'm a teeny bit concerned about the size at the moment. It miiiight be a little small, but I'm thinking that It's going to be a good size for a female body. I have a small frame up top (minus boobs of course) and it should fit fairly well around my ribcage.

Side note - call me crazy, but I love these fiddly bits! I get this weird sense of satisfaction when I get them done. Lol

Looks realy good so far keep it up [emoji41]

Sent from somewhere that is not home.

Back of chest (sounds weird) is done. Should just say torso.. anyway!
It sits better when it's upside-down like that. Me thinks I'll need to get some resin on that one sooner rather than later.

Update!

Things have been slow because I've been trying to be responsible and do some study! Booooo!

After reading a thread by AI Blue Fox, I saw that they had used small sticks to reinforce some areas of their finished pep work. I like this idea!
So I went shopping (yay!) and got a low heat glue gun and a packet of skewers and this is what I have produced. Now I can stress a little less about how long it will take me to get to the resin application. Speaking of which, my resin arrived in the mail today. Huzzah!
Using these sticks is helping quite a lot with the correct spacing between some parts so I can set them correctly. I just use the pep file in designer, measure between the two points I want to stabilize, cut a stick to size and use small globs of glue to put them into position.

Ugh!!

I was going to use theater on Halo 4 to get some good close-ups and angles of Master Chief's armour for reference pictures, but I'm a little late in discovering that you can't view Campaign films! What a load of crap!

I have a bunch of saved pictures I googled of the Halo 4 resin statue to refer to, and there's a lot of different pictures around, which vary greatly. I want moar!
I wish I owned one of those statues.. sigh..

If anybody has other options for me, I'd love to hear them. It would be so much easier to have something in my hands that I could rotate around and look at properly

You can download @Arcanine's asset pack in the archive. Load the file needed into pepakura, go to....setting s I believe select texture, find the texture that comes with pack that corresponds with the file you have and you can view the model in pep with the textures loaded. Just rotate it and view the details you want.

I'm still here! Don't panic!

I know you were all in a huge panic. Don't try to deny it!

I am currently in the middle of pepping my helmet. Much fold. Such excite. Wow.

I went to my first convention the other weekend (no costume) and I'm excited for when I get to wear my suit in public.
My original deadline was Halloween this year but I've been pushed back due to study and other stuff called.. well... life!
I'm now hoping to be done by early next year, which seems reasonable since I started in March.

None of my pepakura pieces have taken this long to assemble, but the details definitely make up for the effort.
I spent hours on this last night and only managed to get the two lower cheek parts done!

Starting up top and working down of course.

Well done! And I understand the hours part. I've been keeping track just for my sake and so far, I've spent 14 hours on my helmet and I'm only about half way lol. Keep up the good work!
