Here's the base for a helmet display stand I'm working on:


For an idea of where I'm headed with this, here's one I did for a Star Wars helmet:


I think I need to size it down a bit though. It won't quite fit into a medium flat-rate box.

I did comment on the health pack, maybe it was in another thread though. I think it looks great. Good to see you having fun in the work shop too. That helmet stand base and helmet are pretty killer too.

Cool idea with the logo as the base. Can you post another picture, with a helmet so we can see the size of it?

I've made a smaller version twice now, but for some reason Lopez keeps messing it up at the last moment and carving a line through the left side of the logo.

I've got a couple of other things in the works right now. Stay tuned...

Nice on the Republic Commando Helmets, did you use the Nintendodudes model?

I started with Skip's pep model, hacked off large portions of it, used the dome from a kid's skateboarding helmet, and redefined significant portions of it along the way.

In other news, I was perusing my copy of the Art of Halo the other day and stumbled across this bit of grenade concept art:


I'm thinking I might need to bring the Thermite (middle left) and white phosphorous (bottom right) versions to life. I'm going to need more things to hang on my H3 Marines when I finally get around to doing a photoshoot.

Not a lot of progress since I spent yesterday shopping for materials to make the barrel and recoil suppressor, but here's the pics all the same:
