Halo ODST Landfall WIP

Another small update -

I painted and installed my rib protectors and hip plates. Thanks to gerard2567 for the sweet clips for the hip plates.
I reprinted these on my Elegoo Mars, resin printer and they came out better than my FDM versions!
Now I’m waiting on the Butt Pack to finish printing so I can get it ready to install and tie it all together!

With that all that’s left is my Cod plate - which I will be making into a zip open pouch for storage. Toe caps and to finish up my BR... then it’s photo shoot time!!!

Theirs are all covered in MOLLE straps. I haven’t seen anything on there that would work for this build unfortunately.

Alright guys,

So I’ve sort of hit a wall and I’m looking for some suggestions/help. We are in the final leg of the build!

Sooo, the Landfall ODSTs have this sub vest BUT the back is almost identical to the Standard Issue ODST Gear. I’ve printed the lower back piece, and I’m thinking about printing the collar part from the pep files (I have them converted to 3D Print).

Would you just make the body Shell from foam or does anyone have suggestions on doing the Landfall Sub Vest and incorporating the necessary pieces to tie it all together?

I guess since the Landfall is slightly different (no body Shell) mounting the back pieces seems to be a challenge. I was looking for suggestions to mount that to the vest or should I just build the body Shell?

I see. I get it now. Duh. Good thing I'm not a detective, huh? lol

I would NOT build the shell. For two reasons:

1: It's not part of the thing you're trying to replicate, and
2: It's gonna be hot as balzz in the costume, adding another layer, while being inaccurate as mentioned in #1, will also add to the heat retention and limit your mobility.

Sean, you’re right. It’s already pretty hot with the Tactical Shirt, Sleeves and all the Armor parts. I’ll just come up with a vest solution and incorporate the neck rig and the back pieces.

This post reminded me there is a totally different spine protector for ODST in the pep files.. I think i'm gonna try and recreate that for my build in foam, thanks for the post!

Okay guys, we got the back pieces all together. Just waiting on the front of the collar to finish and we can start the final assembly.

I’m also making a flak vest from HD Foam and Utility Fabric. That I will be attaching the back pieces to! Excited to be closer to completion!

Haven’t updated you guys in awhile but I got the body shell done! Weathered and will be presented at the Cincinnati Comic Expo next weekend. I’m so excited and can’t wait to show you all the final suit!
