Hello everyone, I’m an inactive member trying to become an active member. This is my first post since 2014 where I failed in my HALO 3 ODST build and am trying to redeem myself and gain membership with a HALO Reach ODST build and bring my childhood dream to fruition. With 3D printed parts and modifying purchased products to suit the build, I’m more optimistic than ever to make this dream a reality. A heck of a way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this amazing gaming universe!

Welcome back, we're happy to assist in helping make this build a reality.

I'll also let you know that unlike a lot of other costume communities out there, a completed costume is not actually required to be considered a 405th Member. All it takes to be gain membership with the 405th and your local Regiment is to have an active Forum account.

You can read up on our levels of voluntary membership here:

And I am sure your local Regiment Commanding Officer N8TEBB would be more than happy to answer any questions you have about membership or participation with the Canadian crew.

Thank you so much! I was actually going to start diving into the local regiment and trying to reach out. Thank you for letting me know who the commanding officer is. Funny thing is, that's who I was going to reach out to as I found their youtube videos through a recommended video, life’s funny some times!

Howdy howdy howdy! Great to have you back active in the community again! That FAQ cadet posted will answer all your membership Q’s. If you have other questions, feel free to ask me!

What part of Canada are you from if you don’t mind sharing?

Thank you so much! I was actually reviewing the post. Thank you, I may be doing that in the near future!

I don't mind at all, I'm from Windsor Ontario.

I am indeed a Windsor fella myself =D

Greetings!

Well unfortunately there's not a ton of us in Windsor, our main groups of people are located in Toronto, Montreal, and Calgary/Edmonton, but hey the more folks we have in Windsor the better!

Anyways, sorry for absolutely derailing your thread. I'll let the messages get back on topic heh

Nothing to apologize for, I'm honestly glad to meet new people and find out new things about this community! This thread is about the build and my journey to finish it, so I definitely welcome the engagement! Thank you!

As of this posting, this is my starting point.

Issue with the MA40’s, I'm missing the bolt on both.

I have a set of shoulders and forearms ready for filling, sanding and smoothing.

I got an ODST helmet kit that I put together though I'm not too happy with the final product.. The quality of the print will require heavy fixing to smooth over.

I do have some fabric goods but I'm not too sure if they will be added due to accuracy. Only time will tell!

In addition to the 3D, I was trying to get things done with the 2D.
To play off the Helljumper designation, I wanted to go for a hellhound theme that wasn't in use. Since Cerberus was already in use with Fireteam Cerberus, I went with Fenrir from Nordic Mythology. I'm indecisive as to which design I won't to use to resemble Fenrir Squad.

I do love me some custom iconography, very excited to see how it turns out!

I HIGHLY reccomned Epoxy and or Bondo in order to help patch up the spot on the top of the helmet, just be patient and it will turn out nicely. And do not do what I did and use some old wood / plastic filler you found in the garage thats been sitting for around 10 years... It wont end well.

Thank you for the advice and sorry to hear what happened to you! Based on the depth of the grooves and height of the clumps, I was anticipating a lot of sanding and a lot of filler.
