Why do people ask for release dates of games and movies that were JUST revealed? :pJust an observation.

No one knows, dude.

Seeing as they have a book called Fall of Reach......i am guessing they are going to do something wacky and release in sometime in the Fall.... :rolleyes

Haha, also seeing how it was announced "Fall of 2010"....unless the joke just went over my head.

You know, I hope they do something inventive with this new title...while I liked ODST, it was just to damn short, and that seems to be a big problem with heavy hitting 360 titles, they just end up being too short 90% of the time.

Shouldn't take 6 hours to finish a game, it should take me 60 hours! I want every dollar counted for.

I'm not even sure if I'll like Reach, not suggesting I'm a Masterchief fan, but, why? I thought all the Spartans were dead from either Reach or Onyx (Granted, yet to read Oynx, it's.....3rd on the list)?

I just want to know how the fact that ODST is an expansion seems to just go through some people.

Sure it ws MARKETED as a full game... by Microsoft....

Truth is that if you can increase the length of a game past the given requirements, then that 60$ looks good for retail pricing.

But throw a yet-to-be-playable demo for another halo game and some selected DLC maps and you've got over a million copies sold in over a week.

But let's not forget, that Halo: CE is the original reason to have a love for what we do. Halo 2, Halo 3, yes in some ways

it fell short of the expectations. Reason being: people got their hopes up for what They wanted not the gameplay. However they were both great games... in mah op-pin-yawn.

So the point being, ODST had several possibilities with where it was going and got ALL of us excited. But yes, it fell short of expectations, yes there were some few details left out that were promised, but in all it's worth, it's still a very playable game. Hell I got to the 5th set just today. 1hr 27 mins.

So like it or not, it's here as apart of the ever-growing Halo universe. Yes, it would be nice to see Reach as a much longer and darker game with the feeling everything you do will lead you to your impending deaths. I want to see lots, and lots of covenant with rows and rows of elites and hunters!!

After all as once said, " the fleet that destroyed reach was 50 times this size..."

Alright, here's my overall analysis. To anybody who knows Halo's lore, this should all be pretty standard.

The SPARTAN's armor is definitely a Mk-V. No debate to it.

Frankly, the helmet looks a tad ODST to me. However, in the picture above, the helmet has a few ODST-ish aspects to it as well. So, perhaps, this was the original version of the Mk-V helmet that was deemed too 'mean' looking?

Plus, you have to take into account that Halo: Reach takes place between a week and a day before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved. The Chief was wearing the latest and greatest gear, the Mk-V, so it'd make sense that all the other SPARTAN-II's were wearing it too.

Each soldier looks to me like they're wearing modded suits of Mk-V. The skull guy has what looks like an EVA helmet that has a painted visor. The sniper's wearing what looks like a Recon helmet. George is pretty much wearing what looks like a Mk-V version of CQB.

The helicopter things aren't precursors to the Pelican. Like Leatherneck said, it's possible their a Halo variant of the MH-6, which is commonly used as a Green Beret insertion vehicle, command post, or weapons platform.

The SPARTANs themselves are most likely SPARTAN-IIBs. If you consider John-117 and his SPARTAN-IIs as the A class, then these are probably the B class, or the second wave of SPARTAN-IIs. In Halo: Fall of Reach, the book mentions that Mendez will be in charge of training the SECOND wave of SPARTANs. Now, most people assumed that these were the SPARTAN-IIIs, but it may have been possible that he trained the second group of II's as well. Who knows? I have another theory listed below.

Now, I did note one discrepancy. The SPARTAN program was under the command of the UNSC Navy, meaning that all the SPARTANs were given Naval ranks and insignias. BUT, the FNG, the number 6, was called "Lieutenant".

I did come up with a little theory for this. It's very possible that the UNSC Marines (or hell, the Army) decided to create their own class of SPARTANs. This theory fits somewhat, as the Marine Corps. operates through the Navy and has to request resources through them. Having their own contingent of SPARTANs would remove this problem and they would have their own group.

The Armor That you see in the Reach preview trailer is not mark iv, and the armor that jorge is wearing is the only mark v out of the bunch. the rest of the spartans are spartan III,s, and if you have read the ghosts of onyx book, you would have known that the armor they are wearing is actually a variant called SPI, or semi-powered infiltration armor. if this is incorrect, you can respond. thx!!

Ok at least three things to mention:

1st. Bungie comfirmed a LOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGG Time ago that they are ALL wearing Mk V. armour.

2nd. Please check the date of the last post before replying, not allowed to post a new post if the thread has not been replied to in a month, unless you are the person who started the thread, have permission from the original person who started the thread/from the Mods.

3rd. With that in mind, can we close this thread? Can we also merge some of the Halo Reach Discussion threads in the Halo universe section?
