Halo RIFLE?

I thought when Halo 2 cam out that the BR was a Stripped down and re arranged rifle as the AR ... What I mean is... Could you take the skin off the AR and find a smiler skin like the BR under the metal shell?

That would be uber-inefficient in terms of weight. plus, burst fire and magazine capacity, not to mention scopes
