I did not know that Hummer had confirmed that the HX was going into production - I won't believe it till I see it though, cool that you got to check it out in person

They had the HUMMER HX in the motorshow this year as the final version, it wasnt a concept.
They also had a list price for it. I think it was about 160 thousand swiss francs for the one they had there.

and I have a buddy helping with designing a custom Paint ball gun that looks like the turret.

Although I would absolutely love it if the hummer HX was set for production, I don't think that has happened yet (if ever).

If you go to the Hummer website it's still has no price, is listed as a concept, and when you look at the HX page it clearly states in the lower right corner "Concept vehicle. Not for sale."

Here, I actually got to be inside it (My neighbour is the Area sales manager for the Hummer company here in switzerland.)

It's fully functional, you can drive it, it had GPS, radio, tv etc. in it... it was awesome.

EDIT: It's still a concept. But it's at it's final stages of being finished.
It will be marketed (at least here in europe) if you dont believe me i can get my neighbour here...

I only saw pictures online of it at the Detroit Autoshow. We did have an autoshow here but it's considered too small for them to send the concept vehicles. All the cars I saw were driven over from dealers in the area.

I think the HUMMER is an american vehicle (not sure tough) But if it will be released here it will definately be there...
Also the geneva Auto-motor Show is the biggest motorshow in the world, this was the 70th time they had it...

Besides all the great sport's cars come from europe... Ferrari (italy), Porchse (germany), Koenigsegg cc (sweden).
So it's nearly obvious we should have it here

(for once the europeans have something bigger then the americans )...LOL

EDIT: Switzerland is in the middle of europe but it's still not the part of the european union.
The UN headquarters are also here (the original headquarters... the 2nd are in NEW YORK)

I believe with collective power of 405th we can together create something buildable. Maybe.

I for sure think that if enough people get involved we could do some thing. I know personally that I'm able to do a bit of this my self but would need help with metal working and what not. I was also just reading in another thread that the base for the hog made by WETA was a jeep Charokee so maybe I'll look into that.

Looks good, Bevbor, I just started modeling the warthog myself. You've gotten a lot farther on it, though. You actually have the suspension modeled almost the same way I was thinking of doing it. I am looking to eventually build one from scratch.

Please download and criticise, I'm sure there's lot mistakes.

This is 3D model you can rotate, hide/show/make transparent parts, measure, etc.
Please post here your drawings too! (In MSpaint, scanned freehand sketches, any pics you've made, doesn't matter what format)

Right now the total money set aside for the project is a whooping $1.26 which is about $4998.74 short of what its gonna cost me so if any one wants to donate any funds or parts it woulds be great. Also if any of yous know anything about building paintball guns I need help building a hugh three barrel mini gun styled one for the rear of the Hog. Hit me up if you want to help or know any thing that will. Also got a buddy who makes go-karts and is gonna help me make a Ghost kart.

Are you sure you're not a mechanical designer? I haven't gotten a chance to look at your model yet, but the thumbnail looks like a VERY clever linkage for the suspension.

Do we have any of the other MechE's on the site looking in on this thread? I took a non-automotive machine design course plan at school (wanting to stay in Iowa, I figured that I'd be designing Ag equipment) , so I would really appreciate advise on suspension design when I get there.

Before you start doing anything, plan all your purchases... and plan literally everything...
Make blueprints etc.

you dont make your own paintball guns, they can be very dangerous.
