helmet visors and eyeholes

Does anyone know whats best to use for the eyeholes or clear visors on helmets? i've got a n7 helmet and making a optimus prime helmet. and was thinking of using blue tinted lens from some shades for the prime helmet.

any thoughts?

just do some shopping around, look at safety goggles, sun glasses, motorcycle visors, anything really, just do some looking

There is no one right answer. You take into consideration color, cost, and how easily you want it to fit.

If you want metallized, you'll probably end up going for premade eyeglasses/visors/whatever, and then bondo'ing the helmet to make it fit the visor. Fast but limited on choices.

If you want a good fit but don't mind it being a flat color or clear, you will get good results making your own vacuum formed pieces, but that is difficult and time consuming.

I like darthoblivious's idea of look for some googles, bet you could find some blue tint ski googles cheep on eBay that you can hack up.
