I actually just looked back through your thread. Garbage can for a hot box? Nice! How's it working out for you? And did I hear two or three fires in your last vid? Ouch!?

I saw this this morning, and since I work for Lowe's I checked for ya lol....the 3M ones go for $30

(here's the online link) http://www.lowes.com/pd_69598-98-R6...or&pl=1&currentURL=?Ntt=respirator&facetInfo=

Awesome, Seems like Lowe's knows what they are doing. Well, the one picture a way back where you see part of my face (when I finish this armor, you will never see my faice! Mwahahaha) ... When you see my face with the gas mask, that one came from my dad, who bought his at Lowe's. Nice, so lowes, here I come!

And thus a partially naked Spartan...

Hahaha! lol... wut? Maybe some of those Female Spartans will take notice... *flexes inside armor*

Hey bro! Thanks for the hotbox idea, its great! But don't use candels... or cardboard boxes. Hell, don't use anything that can catch fire, so I bought something that might work... a 35 Watt warming lamp, And the bonus: the lamp dries out the inside of the moisture so it really stays "ideal" in that hotbox. But alas, yes... one handplate and part of my current helm and all of my forearms caught fire in the "cardboard hotbox". I just threw them out of there right as they caught. I decided to let them burn the concrete though! [Rawr! Me man! Me make fire! Me make fire everywhere... RUN!]

So guys, here ya go... We're trying again with the chest; and after a long time not posting pics, here's some!

Edit: Forgot the picture... sorry guys...

HELMET. BURNT. AGAIN. wtf?! Guys... what am I doing wrong?! This time I will get pics... just gotta wait till I get home.

EDIT:

Ok... so here's the story, 35w warm light bulb, in a reflecting surface that heats up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and the bulb is about 75 degrees. I suspected there was an open electrical current somewhere, but I cannot find one. Using resin made by bondo, and bondo made by bondo (lol, its car body filler) but no putty yet.

Hmm...

dude just get a space heater and set it to like 40 degrees Farenheit. Resin doesn't need to be super hot to cure. the resin canister will actually tell you what degrees it needs to cure which is i think around 40-50 defrees F. put just a few more drops of hardener in with the resin too since it's winter time. and be patient. you'll get there spartan. I did it during the winter so can you! good luck. *salutes*

Thanks again SpartanT117, you have been a great motivator man, I know its not hot, but it doesn't get that hot in the can... I wonder if its an open wire...

You have a strong mindset to keep going after all the mess ups. I admire that =] Keep it up!
Hah! Thanks Statyk, that is one wicked name you got. Now if I only was a spartan that was a bit ... taller...

Don't worry folks, pics of the forearms and biceps on their way!

about your helmets burning...I didn't see a picture of the hotbox but are you leaving room for air to ventilate the hotbox? I know that the hardener in the 3M "Bondo" resin is an oxidizer which means that it will spontaneously combust if you don't have enough ventilation. As for your ideas on making your helmet "legendary strong" i think the best method would be to do a hybrid of rondo and fiberglass. I fiberglassed my helmet using resin and fiberglass cloth, then rondo'd the inside after. This left me with a ridiculously hard helmet that I have accidentally dropped down my driveway watching it bounce a couple times only to come away with a few minor scratches on the edges. I don't know exactly how strong you want it but I'm sure that will be plenty strong for whatever you decide to use it for. Great work btw! Keep at it and the reward will be that much sweeter when you put on your full suit and look at yourself for the first time :p

Bum... You're right!!! Video coming soon with new pics! Update Tonight!
if you're into it... listen to this!

Gonna add EVA foam a the end, to taper off the end near my elbow closer to my arm. I'm thinking about running an interface to my Droid on the left forearm. We'll see.
