Very nice. I just printed out the sheets for this last night, and I know how complicated that is. Lots of tiny folds, clustered numbers.

Good job! How long did it take you?

Actually I am not "beginner" I have worked with Pep alot. I can help friends to help to.
This helmet is still challenging to put together, even for seasoned veterans.

I'm very pleased with Pepakura and the user generated content here, you guys rock. I already knocked one out last night.
I'm testing out some new processes and materials for the site... might use the helms as a base to sculpt over eventually..

This helmet is harder than FS HD helmet, I've been pepping stuff for years, and this helmet just kills you when scoring, cutting, gluing. For the moment, I stopped building it, and I am working on the FS chest, a much larger complicated piece. I need to upgrade my h2 suit into a h3 suit.

You should be posting this on a separate thread.

And also, the code should look something like this:

with the curly bracket replacing the regular bracket.

Actually, this is only my second pep piece.... but it was very hard. I'd say work on some other stuff first.

This piece took about 20-25 hrs of assembly, plus 4-8 of cutting out parts. Didn't really keep track of the time, but I do know that I spent 13 straight hours on assembling it last Saturday.

Tomorrow, I start resining pieces, beginning with Robogenisis' handplates for practice.

If I have time, I'll also be making templates for cutting out some steel H1 Marine armor.

Same reason we don't give out our phone number. Or address. Or zip code.

It's pretty obvious.

No, the sole reason.. is the gif in your sig.

Which is to say, the innanets' freaky-people.

very nice. Crisp lines. And I know what you mean about detail parts being a pain, I'm working on a grunt and some parts are so small, I can barely read the numbers.

Thanks for all the encouragement, guys.
I managed to get some resin on the handplates this weekend, and I got some resin on the top, sides, and back of the helm last night.

The jaw is a bit askew, so I need to rig something to hold it straight while I resin it, figured that having the rest of the helm fairly rigid would help any armature that I'd come up with.

Here's a testimonial for respirators,
glass-054.jpg

The one on the left is new, the one on the right has been used for painting. All that red paint in the prefilter would be IN YOUR LUNGS if you didn't wear one.

Yay for avoiding a gurgling, horrible death.

It's been a while since I've updated this, but I have been making progress.

The helm is completely glassed, sanded, and ready to mud this weekend.

Now I just have to race BishopX and Slavefive to try and finish NZ's helm. (I think They're gonna win ;) )

very cool, I tried ducktape on the outside and it (kinda) worked, but it works a whole lot better on the inside if you want support.

Thanks, guys. There was a little warping in the jaw after I built the helm, but I fixed that when I was resining. I resined the top, back, and sides, but left the jaw plain. Then, I hotglued wire inside to pull the jaw to the right angle.
