That looks pretty cool. I like how you engraved ODST and the emblem into the armor rather than just painting it on.

hey guy ^^

some more detailing and filling happened !

the helmet is now covered with 2 more layers of body filler ^^ it is looking like chaos right now cause its not sanded ^^

tomorrow zeroO2o is going to spend the weekend at my house and helps me finish the armor ! ^^

Oh my gosh I think this is my new favorite progress thread! Superb work dude! You seem to have this Rondo thing down pat. I've recently become a huge fan of the whole rondo thing, and I'm currently in the midst of rondo-ing the inside of my own ODST helmet. Do you have any tips for smoothing/sanding the outside of the helmet? Can you use slightly thicker rondo on the outside for a thinner, smoother application, or should you only stick with pure Bondo?

Also, I really like how your SMG is coming along. I have seen a few people making my SMG pep file, but few have gotten as far as resinin/rondo-ing ...

Keep it up!

hey guys

my first attempt of making a mold had failed .

the silicone wasnt thick enought so it ripped some areas away by pulling the master out ... hmm gona do it again.

Did you use silicone caulk? If so you're really not going to get a good mold out of that. Try using Smooth-On products instead. If you could to the molding section they have lots of info on what kind to use and where to get it. Also read to how to do because I am pretty sure you're going to need a mother mold :/

Hey man, were you sucessfully able to pull your helmet out yet? if you used store bought silicone, You would have needed to use a really good release agent. The silicone is going to act like adheisive so its possible your going to have chunks of silicone stuck on your helmet that isnt going to peel off.

Well i theoried that you could used a sample size of rebound 25 and then make the thicker coat from the "ghetto casting" method, but id fear it may warp and deform over a short period of time

Yeah that stuff is expensive, they sell a sample size (18 ounces) for 28 Us dollars and a gallon kit is 174 US dollars -- those are the only two options.
