Wow. thats crazy lol. You should get a hand sander, or mouse sander.
Yeah, the design looked pretty awesome to me as well. I've always been interested in stealth and speed rather then brute force, so I figured this style of armour was more suited to me
Yeah, dad just bought a sanding belt for help in building a Marimba for my elder sister (busy family we are...) so I'm going to use that for some of the more... annoying bits
Can you buy that somewhere, or is it homemade? Because I love the idea

I'm sure you'll be able to find one of these at a good hardware store. It DEFINITELY beats sanding by hand, but you gotta be able to hold the helmet incredibly steady, as the force of the spin tends to make it bounce around a lot.
I also cut out the visor (which somehow managed to snap three bits of my dremel tool... I'll fix them later...) and have to sand the edges of that down. I've already made a few holes in the curves and whatnot, which I'll fill in later.

I had imagined it would be smaller, maybe just a little larger than a sanding band for a Dremel. Having something like that would be awesome... They won't admit it, but Dremels are really too small for anything beyond 1:32 scale :-D
I'd say it's about 2 or 3 kilograms at the most. Might be a TAD heavy, but I'm sure I'll live
Well, the inevitable has happened - a major delay. While I've been able to fiddle around a bit over the last few weeks, that has been put on hold for now - exams start week! So ya, all of my time will be focused on study (or at least trying to study <_< ). After that I should have just under two weeks until I leave for the Gold Coast, where I'll be holidaing for about a month. So I'm hoping to have as much of it done as possible for I leave.
Anywayz, here's (probably) my last update for the next two weeks. I've pepped the left bicep (The left_rerebrace by ROBOGENESIS) and have almost finished resinning my left Scout shoulder (VROGY's version).
Does the shoulder look at all... out-of-scale to anyone else? It seems a bit large compared to the bicep...

So, my last exam was on monday and I've been working ever since (with breaks for The Last Samurai and sleep of course) and, in no particularly order, here's what I've got done:
built the peps for the left thigh and forearm:
Resinned the bicep, forearm and thigh and finished the resinning for the shoulder:
Started ronoding the thigh:
Assuming the thigh works out, I'm going to rondo all my pieces, aside from the shoulder, which I'm going to resin and fiberglass. This is for two reasons: first, it'll be lighter and won't be a problem for the bicep, and secondly I want to have some practice with different methods.
I also bought some nylon webbing today, and just need to get around to ordering some clips. The thigh is tight, so I may need to redo that, but we'll see, and the wrist on the forearm is a squeeze for my hand, but I can sand that back a bit and it'll be fine. Updates will be continuing as I get stuff done, but I'm a bit busy in the coming few days, so it'll be a tad slower. And comments or insights would be gladly welcome

I pepped my left handguard today! Man I hate that thing... so small, so many tiny cuts and the gluing is too hit and miss for my liking. I only did a small piece because I spent most of the day in the city. I've bought some cheap boots for my armour, as well as a neck-length balaclava. My rich cousins know I want a pressure suit for christmas, but the likelihood of that happening is as of yet unknown.
Also, I bought a sweet hat/beanie. Pics tomorrow hopefully!
I just finished printing off my left shin, which I'll be pepping tomorrow. If all goes well I'll have the entire left side of my suit (aside from the boot) pepped by the weekend!

All of the files I'm using are available from this download. It's gota LOT of pieces, ll of which are very awesomely made and unfolded.
Nice, it looks like it's coming together well. I kind of wish that the Reach thighs had that inside part already in the pep file, but we're left to make it ourselves.

Yeah, I like the step aesthetic it adds, looks really cool in my opinion.
Still waiting on VROGY to finish his Scout Chest model. If it's not finished by the time I get to the chest stage I'm probably going to just make a nromal MkVI chest.

Well, bad news abounds. You know that thing we call the Australian sun? well, it's mean. Especially to a corrguted steel shed. Particularly, the corrugated steel shed in which I do all my work. What does this mean? That I quite honestly cannot stand being in there for more then 5 minutes before I start melting, and have to leave. I'm going to try again with all the doors open, but this probably won't be till tuesday, as I'm going to see Harry Potter with my friend.
I apologise for the lack of update, but it seems I have contracted an ailment of sorts (probably from dad <_<) in which my throat is swollen, my nose is runny, and I spend my entire day sitting around the house complaining about how much I feel like crap. Before I was struck down I DID manage star tsanding my helmet, thigh and shoulder. I manage to break TWO MORE dremel pieces (I think I'm doing something wrong here, or they're really low quality) and painted a layer of paint onto the shoulder, just to get an idea of what it looks like.
After breaking the second dremel piece, I got rather fed up. Looking up from my work I noticed something - dad's new sanding belt. I officially love that thing. It make getting the major flaws out so easy, and worked wonders for my over-bondo'd helmet.
No pictures atm as my (very old) camera seems to have outlived it's usefullness and died on me. Ah well, hopefully I shall be fit enough to work by monday!

christmas time is SUPER SUPER hot where i live, infact on many christmas days i have since experienced, if you went outside, or even opened the door, for more then 5 secs, your dead. up to 40 degrees celsius, not fahrenheit all you americans

I think I'm away for the maximum temperature weeks, so it won't really affect me too much 8D
I've learnt opening every door in the shed helps a LOT with insulation annd keeeping cool. Also, just printed off the Mark VI HD_codpiece by crackhead09. Hopefully I'll be well enough tomorrow to do some pepping. Although, if I'm well ENOUGH I'll probably be out most of the evening, so I'll only have a few hours between church and socialising to work.

Also also, I'm going to start updating the first post with information on the models used and the sizings, for viewers and also so I don't lose that information <_<
Well, I got the codpiece pepped, it appears to be a tad too large, but that won't matter too much with the padding, I hope.
Unfortunately, there won't be any pictures yet, as the camera I normally use has decided it would like to die, so I'll see about fixing that problem.
I'm hoping to start some more rondoing tomorrow, and maybe resin the codpiece, so updates soon!
