i'm not entirely sure about that, because the tint film is applied to the inside of the visor, you'd have to try it. and i was amazed when i found this technique on here, it's a very cheep and effective way to make visor's. also the visibility through the visor depends on what type of tint you use, they also come in different shades:

the window tint film i bought was a 15% shade, but it's fairly easy to see though during the day.

UPDATE: well i have bought, tested, and found the exact paint i am gonna use for my build. it is a fabric paint mixed half and half with fabric medium.

basically when the medium is mixed with the paint it becomes a flexible paint that bends with the foam, now before anyone asks why i didn't do anything like fibreglass it, or seal it with something; i don't have the money, and i don't have the access to such materials.

anyway here are some pics of the tested foam painting i did earlier:

(on the pic above the top part is the un-painted part.)
the white, black and red parts on both were painted with 2 layers, and i'm probably gonna do three on the helmet.

well that's all i have to say about that ;)

Thanks,
CrazyDav0 :D

Did you make your helmet out of foam from scratch?
Did you cut up you visor?
So amazing.

thanks, and i didn't make the helmet from scratch, in the second post of this thread i have links to the files i'm using.
and as far as the visor goes, i think what your asking is answered in posts above, #59 &#61.

UPDATE: okay i started painting my foam build over the past couple of days, so far i've only painted the aviator shoulder. i thought i might paint that first, seeing as i'll probably have to make it again later on because it was slightly too small.

but here are the pics:

i think that with this paint job, the only thing i really stuffed up was the emblem. i just couldn't get it right. but ayway, lemme know what you think.

Thanks,
CrazyDav0 :)

UPDATE: i have officially finished my Halo 4 Recon helmet. just finished painting it and installed the visor.

i am really happy with it, and obviously there are a few things i could have done better. but overall, i really like it and that's all that really matters to me :p

also i have started building the hazop shoulder, and unlike the other shoulder i made, it is gonna be the right size. lol

Thanks,
CrazyDav0 :D

Foam work looks pretty good.
I'd go with DBMikes suggestions on lining up the edges to make them a little neater, because it would make prepping for paint a lot easier on you.
+1 sub here. I'd like to see where this one goes.
Keep up the good work.

where did you get the red tint for the visor?

i bought it off ebay for about $15, and got a 2m roll of it.
here is the thread that gave me the idea: Visor Tutorial
