There's a WTF-moment I'd like to see. Hayabusa goes to assassinate Elite. Mid-chop, said Hayabusa finds out his blade is blunt. Surprise!

If you tend to dip your cookies, I'd advice not eating them while resining... :eek

To add something remotely constructive to the thread, I think the advice of scratch building the sword is a great idea. It would give you an opportunity to be creative, while not really risking much if things get screwed up.

AceHigh,

Id love to see that too, It would be to funny ! Very Epic

Also I think I may make it from scratch, may take me some time because of the rest of my Armour, but Ill most likly do that. Just one thing with that. How would you make the sword holder?. That part may be a little hard !.

And I wont eat while using resin. Ill be safe, cant have me dieing with all you guys here on my topic :D

you just need eather wood working skillz, smooth cast, or you could actually make one out of fiberglass lol

and as for the not eating a cookie while resing, i must dissagre, the resin will give the cookie an aquired taste lol

Then just paint the blade silver.

I may do that ! thanks :)

Okay guys I have an Update !! :) :) :) :)

I finished gluing my chest plate togeather. Here are some pictures of it done

Ps. I had to fix it up abit because it was too big so if it looks funny in places its because I cut it haha. I still have some resizing to do with it. But for now it looks good( I think ). Oh also There are pieces thats I havnt put on yet because I don't want to rip them, haha.

TELL ME WHAT YOU GUYS THINK :)

Hey guys,

I really would like to know what you think of the chest plate. Do you think I should make a new one or keep this one?. I think with the right sanding, bondoing and paint. You wont even be able to tell I cut it up.

Id still like to know what you guys think though, because you guys might have a better idea for me.

I hope you think it's alright though hehehe.

I think you should go to the "What does your username mean to me?" topic i'm curious what IroniumCostuming will say.

I cant wait too see what he has too say about my name lol,

To be honest, I actually think it still looks a tab big. It also seems like you want us to say that you should remake the chest plate (I can tell that the little perfectionist inside you is shivering from the thought of having an even slightly sub par chestplate... ;) ). As I see it, you would probably need to do more bondoing and sanding, which means either way you are bound to spend more time on it. Doing it over with correct scaling might not be the least time consuming of the two, but it will probably be a lot easier to get a result that you are happy with.

Ace high,

Your right My perfectionist is telling me to do it over. But what I thought was,

1)If I do it over then... Thats time waited BUT it will be what I want ( lol ).

2)If I just " Fix " It up a bit more it should be alright, If you think about it the Hayabusa chest plate will cover this one which means you won't really see the fact that I had to cut it up to fix.

3)It will be better if I do it again

4)It will be better id i do it again

5)It will be better if I do it again

6)It will be better if I do it again

I just dont want to have to waist more paper on a new one and the time it takes to cut out and score really does kill me.

How about.. Tomorrow when I get home from school Ill do more " Fixing " take some pictures and you guys tell me how it looks lol.

This is so hard. haha I really want to fix it, but I don't want the perfectionist side of me to take control because then I would never finish my Hayabusa. lol

I actually was looking at my helmet today and found EVERY single MISTAKE on it, and it made me want to do it over. But I was like

"Hell No, everyone thought it was nice. Soooo GET OVER IT SELF" hahaha.

I HATE BEING A PERFECTIONIST

i dont really see any defects in the pep work Proxy, and the sizing really isnt that off, well compaired to my first chest peice lol :pbut i say just keep it as it is for now and just pep the other peices and after that just make up another one after the whole armour is done (peping, resining, fiberglassing, ect.)

//Jeremy

if you decide to re-do the chest i suggest you pep the HD or MD ones... it has more definition and will take less time to bondo.

hey there pmsproxy, good to see a fellow Canadian maritimer here on the forums !! :) (<-- is from NB)and sweet job on the busa helmet =D, and after having read the posts, i'm glad you went with re-sizing the chest piece, you are better with that rout. also, just a little head's up about the aqua resin, i have read/heard that if its shipped during the winter the liquid part might freeze, at which point it is useless. also, regular fiberglass dose not really take that well to the aqua resin. while the fiberglass that aqua resin sells takes really well, and from what i heard is very strong. all that having been said, aqua resin can be twice as expensive as normal resin and fiberglass.

all that being hear-say of course, i only have experience with standard bondo brand resin and fiberglass, so i hope that helps a bit. keep up the good work :)

Outlaw-tiger,

Its so easy to get bored when its like -5 out all the time ( Or colder ) I just cant stand the cold. I have bad knees from rugby so they get painful during the winter making it hard for me to do things, Thats why I pep haha staying in a warm house with my milk, cookies, and peping stuff. It all makes me a very happy girl ! hehe :)

Sucks though with such cold temps, Making resening, fiberglassing, and bondo pretty much Imposable. Unless I use some of the methods given to me by Members on this topic ( Thanks you guys )

:) :D

For your sword, you COULD try and scratch build it OR if you have the money, you can buy a sword that looks 95% identical to the sword used in Halo. That katana in Halo is based off of Ninja Gaiden and there is a replica sword you can buy. However, it is factory sharpened. It's not a whole lot of money which surprised me so I plan on buying it for my costume. I also believe that Ithica bought this same sword for his hayabusa. :p

http://www.swordsswords.com/ryu-hayabusa-sword-inspired-by-ninja-gaiden.aspx

As for your chestplate, I do think it looks a bit large. When I measured for mine, I measured the widest part of chest and used 13 inches as my width then converted that to mm which was 330mm and mine fits just right. :)

haha yeah, the sub 0 temps around here are brutal for resin and fiberglass, not to mention when it gets dark around 4/4:30pm lol. and i don't do well in cold either... my normal body temp is 96... as opposed to the standard 98, so i'm always colder than most people.. which mans i don't do well when it gets below 15 degrees.. kinda ironic seeing as i like in canada hahaha
