This is my 2nd attempt at this pepakura build. My first attempt it happened to be to large. It is still a little big after scaling it down but I think it will work. I originally modeled the helmet in blender, cyberpatty66 did the unwrapping for me. My next step is to fiberglass and resin it and then bondo. Here are a couple of WIP pics

its similar but even the Gondorian helmets are modeled after historical pieces. I wanted something similar but not an exact replica.

Yeah, that is a similar helm, but the Gondor helms came to a higher point and had the wing detailing around the face.

Really cool Idea on the medieval stuff. I've always had a liking to helmets like that since I played Warband.
=p

thanks, Im probably going to re do it a bit smaller, when I put it on it seems a bit big. I was looking up helmets of a similar type and it seems the average height is 255mms. I would like to find a cross section of one just so i can see how the head is supposed to sit inside.

When using helms for battle purposes we usually say it should be 1/2" to 1" either side of the head but for costuming I'd say you want a maximum 1/2" all round for padding, if you measure your heads circumference then work out the diameter you can add 1" to your diameter and use that as the side scale for the helmets... does that make sense to anyone?
