Looks like they steal the Wiimote design, make two of them and make it go together and apart like the ps3s SplitShock. Pretty Lame if you ask me.

and not to mention it looks pretty retarted to boot.
they couldnt come up with an attachment like were the keypad goes.

What games even go with that right now??
Is there an attachment that goes into a usb port on the xbox? ((not sure how it works like the wii))

looks like a lightsaber!

looks like a lightsaber!

I would buy it for a lightsabre game. To be honest, I think the wiimoit is totally over rated, I'm yet to play a game that is anything more than shaking the wiimote at the right time. Cross that 360 remote with a sterioscopic headset, and you'd have a pretty awesome jedi remote lightsaber training simulator.

I dont know about you guys, but I think this thing is pretty sweet. ;)

I was wondering if they'd ever come out with something on the lines of the wii remote.

Looks really awsome too. :D

I remember reading about the xbox motion controller, that was about a year ago, it looked like a cross between a wiimote and a microphone back then...
I think trying to copy the wii is a bad thing... we already have the wii if you like motion controls we don't need the 360 to try to become the wii...

i'd say not only is it a total rip-off but its kind sexually suggestive... reminds me of the guitar hero spoof video where they had a version called 'groupie hero'

oh my god.. maybe theyre coming out with groupie hero and this is the 'special controller'!?

Microsoft have obviously seen how well Nintendo are doing with their side of the market and want a piece of the pie. That being said I agree with NZ-TK, It could be fun if done correctly.
Also the Wiimote seems well designed. So Microsoft seem to be going down the route of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

cheap, very cheap.... the only good thing is that it's not made by microsoft (good on them)

the other thing that strikes me: Darwiin is the name of a program which let's the wiimote be used on a computer... and this thing is called Darwin? veeeeery strange.
As you move it knows where it is (kind of like a personal GPS bus using a different kind of technology). It is self-contained, meaning what you hold is all you need, no IR strips or other devices for a reference point
bulls**t, you always need a reference point, like the gps satellites, sensor bar, etc. for good tracking. imo, epic fail.

Zelda? Anyway, every video game is about pressing a button at the right time :D but with the wiimote, you can swing it like a sword, which makes you feel more part of the game. of course, shaking would do, but then again there's no need to smash buttons, and we all do that at some point!

Well nothing is 100% official yet, but there is a add on which requires some wiring, works with ps2 and xbox 360 controllers. I forget the name of the product, but they also started making their own controllers for the ps2 and 360 with the motion sensor already built in. It was mainly for flying and racing games though because of the controller's design.

The company who makes that controller pictures makes it for the xbox 360, but it isnt official. It's microsoft's call if they want to support and claim it as their own as the "official motion sensor controller". But so far nothing has been said.

Meh.. I don't know why Microsoft did this, all it looks like is them trying to say "Oh yeah? Well we have THIS!" Microsoft, you're doing great as is. You have the best console-exclusive games of all 3 consoles. You don't need flashy new hardware to make it better.

The wiimote is fun and all, but with very few games. the only ones I can think of are Mario kart, nd soon-to-be-released Force Unleashed. By the looks of the previews of X-play, it looks pretty awesome.

The wii mote is over used sometimes to the point in certain games I think it's lame.

It was used great for Legend of zelda, but other games I have, it just isnt fun or amazing anymore.

I still prefer my controllers to be push button only, but some games need to have motion sensing to be playable and fun, and that's why the wii exist.

Hmm maybe if you looked into it, its not made by microsoft, and this one isn't truly designed for the Xbox. It was made for the PC and it has been around for about a year or more. Just some company trying to gain a little steam and Gizmodo repeating old stories.

Eh and I actually agree with the "mii-60" name for them. They just took a little gimmick, yay xbox, now they have dumb cartoonish things that can run around in circles.

I don't see MS borrowing the concept as a problem at all (the whole idea of a home console is borrowed to begin with), If I recall correctly, Nintendo invented the control pad. Nobody minds about that. I think they also invented control pads with d-pads and analogue sticks (I could be wrong there though) My point about the Wiimote is, it doesn't work like advertised, take that tennis game, you see people doing fancy backhands on the adds, but when you play it, all you need to do is give the controller a very slight jiggle at the right time, the game decides if you did a backhand or not. It can be fun, yes, but its nowhere near as interactive as we were lead to believe, pre-release.

Zelda? Anyway, every video game is about pressing a button at the right time

You are talking to a man, that has a Super Nintendo with Link to the Past, sitting on my my shelf as an ornament. I love Zelda, and I bought my Wii for that game alone. It was pretty cool but, to be honest, I felt all the wii mote did, was get in the way rather than make it more interactive. Some games make better use of it, Elibits/Elidees for example, but in that game, its only being used as a pointer, and in reality, a mouse would work better.

If companies want a way to make games more interactive, then release a stereoscopic headset, seriously. Imagine standing on the top of a mountain in Oblivion, and throwing a 3d fireball out over the land scape, and watching it fly away from your hand. Or imagine watching that insane intro to COD4, being driven through the town, watching a revolution take place in the streets, and getting a gun put in you face or, doing the train level on Gears of War, zooming along at high speed, while those big dangly tenticle shooty doods try to zap you. Immersion 3d games would kick amazing amounts of arse if they were really in 3d, even without head tracking. There are so many games that would become 900% more interesting if they were stereoscopic. I know there would be a couple of annoying graphics issues to overcome, but all in all, I wouldn't mind them if I could just play these games in 3d. And there is no reason why we cant,.

That makes two of us ^^ Super Mario Galaxy also has very nice control scheme, even though I haven't got the Mario fever yet from that game.

But this stuff also has to mature... most game developers just haven't had the time to experiment and/or have new ideas. It's all about shaking at the moment, you're absolutely right there. I'm looking forward to games that combine the BalanceBoard with the Wiimote for even more immersion.
