It's lonely and quiet in there...especially considering all the people passing through the site or have been on here all freaking day like me haha probably killing time at work as well. For being one of the few chat apps I can actually access while at work I am taking advantage of it! Even if I'm talking to myself in the pit.
Well, I think I can safely say I
definately sympathize with your plight, Jax.
I work in a two-person office (I'm an office admin for an Edward Jones Investments branch here in town), and the boss is away on vacation until the end of the month. As such, there isn't a helluva lot for me to do here; there are no client appointments, no trade requests, nothing.
For the most part, I've been checking out the forums here and at two other prop boards I'm a member of, though due to the server restrictions here at work I can't access my e-mail account, or any sort of IM applications. Aside from that, I've done some document shredding and a little reorganizing of the office supplies.
I have to work my regular 9-5 day as someone has to be here to field calls should any come in. We don't even have a radio for crying out loud, so there's not even any ambient noise in the background. Absolute silence. Ugh.
As kewl as it may sound to essentially be getting paid to do nothing, the reality of it is that it's just so damn boring when you have nothing to do, and so makes the day go by
sooo much slower. I'd rather be up to my eyeballs in work, so that it wouldn't feel like I was here so long, and would feel like I'd been more productive with my day.
It's taking every ounce of will I have right now to: (a) not fall asleep, and (b ) not just up and leave early, LOL.
So, I feel your pain...
