Summer Con continues to be one of our favorite conventions. It has all of the fun of the big events, without all the headache of being in a city. It is held in the Washington State Fairgrounds so their is plenty of free parking and plenty of available space. You get tired of the crowded aisles, just step outside and you'll have plenty of fresh air. I've been told they are adding more buildings. Last year was 4 and this year will be 7 with a shuttle available to move about the grounds. As a bonus the WA National Guard is typically there with some big toys like Helicopters and APCs. It is a great opportunity to get some cool photos.

Check out their guest list as well. They pull out some voodoo magic to get some big names to such a new event. John Cleese? Richard Dean Anderson? Crazy. There will likely not be any Halo guests since they just had WA Gaming Expo put on by the same people and prominently featured 5 Halo celebs. But it is still a fun event.

We'll be having both out Recruitment booth and our new Standoff Photo Op there and as such will need a structured volunteer force. Typically we offer a free 3day pass if you are willing to work most of 2 days. Volunteer work can be either in suit standing for photo ops or out of suit and communicating with members about the 405th and cosplay crafting is. Additional Requirements for free volunteer pass: Being a full member (90/50) and wearing plain, Halo or 405th clothes during booth time. Please message me if you are interested in helping. **please vote in the poll at the top, including if you will make it to the group dinner. If you are also bringing non-members to the dinner please comment below with how many. We are looking at renting a banquet room at a pizza place Trackside Puyallup, which can hold 30 people.**

Saw this on their front page and found it funny! I still need to catch up on that show though...

+1 reserve with 2 on waitlist

Just a reminder that volunteers are expected to help a majority of 2 out of 3 days while wearing Halo, 405th or plain clothes.

Anyone else planning to hang around the booth for extended periods of time, must also not be wearing clothes or cosplays from other fandoms.

We will likely have costume storage for all members, location TBD.

No eating at the booth and any personal items like drinks need to be kept out of sight from the event goers.

You are responsible for your props so please only bring as many as you can keep track of. The tables and weapon racks are meant to let you set things down, it is not meant to showcase. If you have something you do want to bring just to display please message me.

One month away!

Just voted, I'll be there all 3 days! Will likely have my ODST done as well! Crazy for me to think I met you guys at this con, one year ago and now I'm able to volunteer at the booth.

I will also have 2 people with me for the dinner, my mom and her boyfriend!

I have confirmed the banquet room at a pizza (and sandwiches) place for Saturday June 22nd @ 7:30pm. There is a 30 person cap. So please vote in the poll at the top of this page to confirm you are coming. And if you have a plus one or more please comment here saying so. Thanks! Our first Pacific Regiment Banquet room! Hype!

I won’t be at the Dinner, I am on duty until 1230 Friday and Sunday.

Count two more (possible three but confirming because of dietary restrictions and scheduling) to the Trackside Pizza pizza party.
