yea i think your right on the more powerful ammo. the suppresser is much bigger which would allow the bullets to have more power behind em.

whould be kewl if you could pop the brutes from a distance and thin their numbers where needed.
out of curiosity, anyone spotted how he racks the gun and where the cases come out?

That, my friend, is the beauty of caseless ammunition. There are no metallic cases. The bullet is attached to a block of propellant and the whole thing is fed into the action and fired electrically. So there's no need to include a mechanism to extract and eject a case.

This is amazing. Can't wait for it to come out. I expect there will be a wave of members doing ODSTs for the launch. I think I'll do a helmet myself. Praise goes to flying_squirl for getting onto the new weapon model so fast.

On a close examination of the trailer I managed to catch something. We've got some more information about our new protagonist. On the left chest plate you can clearly see a chevron with crossed rifles, the rank insignia of a Lance Corporal. So we know what his rank is and we now know where the ODST's display their rank on the armor.

*doh* ya see, i shoulda known that! it doesnt sound perticularly stable thoe, i suppose it would be grand just one you dont take out a bullet n try chew it.

would you have to rack it or would that be automatic too? (is rack the right word? i mean pulling the bolt back to feed in the first bullet)

heh, well over here in ireland we never realy have much contact with guns (illeagal without strictly controled licences) nor the millitary (nutral country and all that) so im just going by movies and the like.

Also, it's written that for exemple if you are against 5 brutes, you can't just rush them like MC. You need to flank them, grenade them etc.

The SI is kinda like Siff and the cowboy AI (ONI AI) that ran Harvest, right?

SI is an example of a "dumb" AI, amiright?

After he gets out of the HEV, you see him reach over and across the top of the receiver with his left hand and (I'd assume) pull back the charging handle on the right side of the reciever. So, I'd guess that the charging handle is in the same spot as the normal M7.
