Didn't get as far as I was hoping today, didn't have much time to work on it:

Hopefully I'll have more time tomorrow.

Anyone that wants to model a detailed piece should be forced to try and pep this chest first :angry

Side note, now that it has a front, a back, and sides, I was able to put it on my shoulders. Fits perfect :cool

You, my friend, are far more patient than I am, to do all that folding and taping and cutting...looking good!! Can't wait to see how it goes. :)

I have 2 support struts left to add in, otherwise the chest is all done! I'll post some pics tonight, including the minor modifications I made to it. The struts on this piece are amazing! I had some slight warping on the back where the lower armadillo plate is, but just adding in the struts straightened everything out perfectly.

I do have a couple minor issues in the lower back area where some folds aren't staying perfectly straight, so I'm going to build in my own little reinforcements down there to hold them in place while I resin.

I think I'm all pepped out for a while, that chest is a ton of cutting and glueing, so I think I'll work on resin and fiberglassing for a while before I start up my next pepping. I think I'll do biceps next and just keep working my way downwards from there.

Pepping does get really boring, I think you are doing the right thing by taking a break from it for a bit. Fiberglassing should be a nice change of pace, plus it will protect the chest from sagging.

You are making good progress on your build, stay motivated! I want to see pics of this suit finished!

Your pepakura pieces are works of art. A great base to build from.

Looking forward in seeing the bondo take shape.

Ok, I didn't put the last strut in, but everything lines up fine.

Here's the 2 minor mods I did to the chest:

So the top of the picture is the top of the back on the model. I decided not to pep those little holes. Because they looked complicated. Before I resin I'll finish filling that hole (Tucker: "Bow chicka wow wow"). I may end up drilling the actual detail in, but probably not.

On the bottom is a little detail that looks like a latch on the model. I decided to not pep that part, and instead I'm going to put an actual latch there once the chest is split. I've been looking around for latches, but haven't been able to find anything good. If anyone knows of some good latches that look militaryish or something, let me know.

Ok, here's the latches I think I'll use on the lower portion of the chest piece.

Almost $11 each is kinda pricey, but I haven't been able to find any other powder coated options..

I'll use something similar, but cheaper and not as bulky looking for the upper clasps.
