Aaaaaaaaannnnnnnndddd: Viola!

Finishing the boots, getting everything attached to the undersuit, and the cooling system and visor need to be installed. But otherwise, bam.

It's so funny cause you have a chopped up horse mat just like me on the floor!!

And a lazy good- for- nothing beagle!

I hate how the game- accurate Spartans have shins that are 1¹/² times as long as normal. My shoes are going to have to be squished down a little bit too accommodate.

I'm thinking of recreating my reach shoes someday down the road, and intend to use the horse mat method, if it holds up with my H4 ones. I haven't had these boots outside, yet, but after shoe-gooing the inside twice and outside of the bottom and sole, I have high hopes. In fact, I'm going to check out the ren fair today in them. Here's hoping all the hype about shoe goo is true, ExCeLLuR8:

I'll update later today with the results. If I make it out there... I am still adding more details!

Haha you got it man!! As long as it was done right, which its kinda hard to screw up, you should be good. I over engineer with the stuff, meaning if I think it's going to a high stress spot, I double, even triple. My boots are solid as a rock. I have the insidesame of them coated like crazy. Good luck today bro and post pics later from the fest!! I will be hitting up our local Ren Fest in the fall which is what I has these boots planned for.

The boots each suffered a catastrophic failure. The entire toe detached from the host shoe.

This indicates to me I under worked it since it happened in the same place to both shoes. I will have to clean them up and redo the shoe goo, but I will also mechanically attach the toes to the shoes as well.

DUDE.

THIS
LOOKS
SO
DAMN
GOOD

Well done Sean Anwalt

Haha thanks, TurboCharizard, that means s lot coming from you. I'm trying to get the good looks and resiliency of your reach suit, so I've been very careful in constructing each part. .... except the shoes, apparently. :/

The cooling system in the helmet was TOO good. I only used one of the two fans about half the time. This is good news. I like being over prepared.

Unfortunately I didn't havet my phone with me most of the time so didn't fer a lot of pictures. Here's one my sister snagged at lunch time, though:

Man that was a lot of fun, though. A lot of children and their fathers came to get pictures with me. No mothers, though Haha!

Did you sand both surfaces of the host shoe and rubber boot soles. Clean thoroughly with alcohol? I also used a tread safe shoe from Walmart that had really tacky rubber soles with a honeycomb pattern for the shoe goo to really cling and work in too. Plus I think that week long cure time is important. The shoe goo is meant for bonding soles to shoes. I've used it many times to do that aside from cosplay. I think you'll get it, just back to the drawing board! The suit looks fantastic!

Yeaup, that looks awesome, or could try 3 layers of contact cement, shoe goo is great but the bond is too great

This looks amazing! This is what I strive to do in the future! The level of detail is astounding. You definitely have mastered foam work.
Man your making me want to start a second build before I finish my current one. That armor is beautiful. Great job!

Thanks man! You can do it, too. It just takes patience and practice. And sharp blades, Haha.

Keep it going, man, you got this!

Worked out the bugs on memorial day, today was fancon, a perfect day to stress test the repairs and whole suit (ride in a car, run, etc...) and here is the photo dump results (it was successful, by the way):
