Don't use velcro. It doesn't work very nicely I used it on my first suit and the shins would un strap and fall off sometimes..

Yeah, I'd be in agreement against using velcro straps. I don't know how much extra space you have in those shin pieces, but maybe you could try using a smaller type of clip-in buckle straps? :unsure

Well I can't fit my foot through. So the next best thing is to cut it in half.

I plan on using a set of straps though that could change.

I still need to figure out how I am going to do that.

I'm too late since the shins have been cut in half. I ran into the same problem to much fiberglass below the calf. The way i put it on is I slide it on calf side up and then once my foot is in i just rotate it around. I'm sure you tried it though you must have big old shaq feet.

@Mac

Maybe some straps of some sort will do?

@SpartanII

Clip in buckles? Hmmmm I may have to look around for those but my calves aren't massively huge.

So I won't have much of a problem.

@xavierjer

I have huge feet a person that's only 5'8"

I am probably a us size 12

And that's a big size

I was going to say THAT!

But.... I don't wanna imply anything ;)

UPDATE:

I plasti dip my helmet. I sprayed about 3 coats of it and LOVING IT!

I like the rubber feel of it :D

@Queen

It might work but then I have to pay for the anvil hammer to get the best out of it.

Or buy the snap thingy. I think a buckle system will just work fine.

Thanks for the input though :D

I think you could just somehow attach the snaps to the shins like tailors do to shirts without the use of a hammer and anvil. Maybe you could superglue them?

@Queen

It's alright but the snap things won't work as well as a buckle system where you can tighten the straps.

I want to keep my shins from sliding or shifting

big feet = big socks. LOL

what is plasti dip? is it like bed liner spray?

Nevermind i just searched it. Does everyone plasti dip their helmet?

I do have big socks :D

I think everyone uses plasti dip on their helmets?

UPDATE:

Not much of importance but I resined my left thigh and bondo'd my right thigh

Update:

I finally got around to getting some paint and primer.

Right now I got it all primered up along with some areas that need to be black.

Now I gotta mask it off then apply the final coat of gray.

I was thinking of adding some battle scars. Any yes/no on this?

This is lookin' awesome! Fantastically smooth finish on the helmet. And what is this plasti-dip for? I honestly haven't heard about it's applications to armor-building.

Great progress, you should be in armor by halo-ween for sure. I also am curious if you could talk a little more about the plasti-dip.

Also what do you do, use for making your stickers?
